You may need more than one power feed to this set. Red wire main power in and an orange or yellow wire for memory. some have a system to connect into the alarm on the car.

How do you recharge the vector? Don Rutledge

VECTOR VECO12B, JUMP´N CHARGE SMART BATTERY CHARGER.

VECTOR VECO12B, Jump'n CHARGE SMART BATTERY CHARGER.
Hello everyone, I recently purchased (February 2011) this system. I have had the same problem which does not charge the internal battery system. The battery charging system works fine but the jump-starter system does not work.
After various tests, online reading and analyzing the problem, I came to the conclusion that the internal battery is damaged or out of specification.
What happens? What happens is that the internal battery jump-starter is in a voltage (V) is too low, which is not enough for the charger to see it as sufficient to start charging, it displays the fault F01 or F02.
What I made was this: using the power load of 12 volt DC, I placed one end connected to 12 volt DC output from jump-starter and the other end I connected with the auxiliary cable to an external battery . This makes connecting the internal battery jump-starter, with the external battery. This without using the battery cable clamps.
Under this condition I connect the jump-starter to a power of 110 volts AC and I turned it on and then I select the level of charge (2, 4 or 6 amps). The charger begins charging the two batteries (internal battery jump-starter and external).
This makes the load current is distributed equally (depending on the impedance of each battery) between the two batteries.
I leave it in that condition for 12 hours, always checking the condition of the system.
After that time, I disconnect the system and I measurement in the 12-volt DC socket, the internal battery and up to a level of 11.50 volts DC. Since then the jump-starter, began to recognize the internal battery as well, and I leave two hours charging himself, and after that, the level of tension was of 14.40 volts DC.
I turned off the charger and the system is loaded ready for work.
From all this I deduce that the problem was the internal battery which did not have enough power level to initiate the battery charger work.
Greetings, I hope this is helpful for everyone.
Ali, from Venezuela.

I need to know what wires are what in my dash for my radio in my 2000 grand prix please nothing is labeled like it should be for example it says red wire is accessory I dont have a red wire the closest...

first things first check your fuses and i mean all of them replace all that are bad with proper fuse amprages

you are going to have to do some probing of those wires to find the ones you need you can buy a voltmeter(25$ or less) or a simple test light(2-5$) from a local automotive store

colors to look for are
primary power wires :red, yellow, black for ground
accsesory wire from igntion ,orange or blue with wite stripe and posibly pink(rare)

any wire that has an on and off state from the turn key igntion can be used depending on its gauge/size test the orange one first as this is the most common color to use for the accsesories wire
to test you have the igntion in the on postion if you get a readying of +12 volt and then turn the igntion of and recive a reading of 0 volts this would be an on off wire
note: check the auxsilary postion of the turn key igntion also if there is no power to the wire in the auxzilary postion it is the incorect wire for the radio

BLACK> should be a ground wire
RED>should be an igntion supply wire of a larger diameter
YELLOW> should be a battery supply lead strait from the fuse box battery conection "always on"connect the wire of the stereo labeld battery to the always on battery lead ,this is for the memory function of the radio

ORANGE>(may be pink only seen pink in buick's) should be an on/off wire from the igntion and used for the main power of the radio so it is shut of when the car is turnt of this is also the wire you would hook the amplifyer on off up to if the radio dont supply the blue wire with white stripe aka ant/motor
test the on off state of the wire befor conecting it to the radio
you will conect the red (+ positive) wire to this on/off state wire

cation! disconect the batery ground wire when conecting anything to the main yellow battery wire as it is directly conected thru an exspensive(12$) 30 amp fuse

if you dont know what wires are what for the speakers in the car use a 9 volt batery to find the speaker wire leads (ues a brand new 9 volt)
ntsc standard color pairs are
white and grey front
green & brown for back
i dont remeber the left and right
the black stripe on the speaker leads means the ground or negative side of the speaker
good luck instaling your new radio hope i have helped you out
