The motor was replaced in my Nutone 9111 bath heater/fan/light. The heater and fan worked for a day or two and stopped. Is there another model that will fit in the same space? Or is this one fixable?

There are a number of YouTube videos that show how to replace the motor assembly on a Broan bath fan. Once you have unplugged the fan and removed the motor mounting plate you will have easy access to replace the blower wheel and/or the motor assembly.
Just go to You Tube and search on Broan
You can buy a replacement motor assembly for that model. http://vacuums-intercoms.centralvacuumstores.com/search?w=8663rmsa&af=type%3Aproduct&asug=&x=0&y=0
This model has been discontinued but replacement motor assemblies are available. There is no off the shelf model that will fit in the existing housing. If you do not want to replace the housing then the motor assembly is the way to go. You ca purchase the replacement from either site below: http://www.centralvacuumstores.com/Bath-Vent-Fan/NuTone/Motor-Assembly/0696B000-Motor-Assembly.php
It sounds like the fan blade may be loose on the motor shaft. You can purchase a new motor for this fan online.

contact nutone. the problem is that the sensor that shuts off the unit to prevent overheating is too sensitive or faulty. nutone website seems geared towards selling their product so you may have to call them direct at 1-888-336-6157. this is customer support. good luck.6-6157
If you remove the motor, which usually isn't to difficult to do. I would recommend plugging it in to one of your electrical outlets to check it. There is a possibility that the wiring is messed up or the plug in the housing went bad. If the motor doesn't work you need a new motor if it does work then you could try replacing the plug in the housing. All these parts are still available. Here is a motor finder for NuTone motors: http://www.centralvacuumstores.com/nutone/fan-motor-main.php Here is the manufacturer you can get parts from them: http://nutone.com/
The best thing to do is buy the replacement motor. It is usually a pretty simple thing to change out and it sure beats having to take down the whole thing. Here is an article on finding the right motor. http://nutoneproducts.blogspot.com/2009/05/nutone-bath-fan-motor-replacement.html
