Simple. The fastest way is to find a thin edged blade and gently pry up to old lens. Ensure you do not lose any of the adhesive tape that holds the lens on as you will need it to put the new one on. You'll need compressed air to keep dirt and debris from getting between the lens and the LCD.

My LG VX8300 phone has a cracked camera lens cover. I would like to replace it myself if LG can provide the parts. Can you help with instructions? Thanks!

I repaired mine by using a knife to pick out the old one. Then I opened the back by removing the 4 screws and prying it apart. I cut a piece of clear plastic the size of the lens from a flash memory box, removed the black ring around the hole on the inside and pressed the new lens in, replacing it. I used a little glue to hold it in and put the black washer on top of it. Then I closed up the phone. It works great. With the new lens inside, it won't get broken again.

LG VX8300 front and main screen are black.

2 possible causes - the LCD and/or LCD electronics PCB board is faulty OR the flexible ribbon cable may be kinked or broken. If you are knowledgeable in electronics repair, you can make this fix yourself.

LG VX8300 broken camera lens

hi is it the outer case of the phone that has the crack or is it actually the lense of camera as often it is the cover over the lense that gets broken as the lense on the camera itself is tiny.
If this is the case and it is just the case that needs replacing you can either take it to phone shop and they will replace for a small fee the only problem with doing it yourself is the screws need to be undone in a certain order and the same putting them back getting this wrong can warp the board and destroy the phone.
The only sites i have found that shows you how to strip phones down only covers nokias.
You could try using and typing in what you are looking for as sometimes you will come across a site containing the info you need.
If the problem is with the camera itself this will require unsoldering and a new camera soldering back onto the board but you problem is probably just the case.
They are difficult to take off as once you have undone the screws their are clips holding the case onto the board itself and if you damage these you wont be able to get the phone back together again.
Ill have a look now for you and see if their are any sites with instruction on for you and will post back if i find any but try using ask to search for you you might be lucky let me know how you get on ok

Cracked camerea lense

Yes. You have to contact VERIZON or another cell phone dealer and ask them for the number to LG or what ever company your phone is made by. In my case it was LG and they sold me a replacement cell phone camera lens, with special glue, for around ten bucks. It was mailed directly to my house.

Broken LCD repair

Boss this is not an easy job. To replace the LCD u will have to separate the top portion from the other. I would suggest take it to a reliable technician and he will do the job for u.
There is a flex cable that is connected to the main board through the hinges of the phone and even if u manage to separate the two care should be taken while fixing it again as the new flex (that comes with the LCD display) may get jammed if wrongly done. Only an expert will help u here

Cracked case

DON'T! you can do more harm then good taking the phone apart.. specially the front lid.

The hinge has a ribbon cable that runs through the left side hinge .. If that's torn there's no fixing anything anymore. Your better off just seeing if Verizon wireless can replace it for a fee.

VX8300 Phone! Problem!!

JJulie, I had a similiar problem with my phone (lg vx8300) where it would show a white screen saying "use genuine battery" and then power off automatically. Although there was no contact with liquid, there were signs of water damage (high humidity in my area, camera lens had some moisture) on the battery and phone. If you open the battery door, look at the bottom edge of the battery (where positive and negative posts are), and the spot on the phone located where the battery would line up with this dot. If either/both dots are red, then there has been liquid damage, and you will need to replace the phone. I understand that this is not good news, for me it meant that I had to pay to replace the entire unit. Check to see if you have insurance with your phone plan to get a lower cost replacement. Sorry for your loss, and hope this helped.
