How do i find the square root of a number on the casio scientific calculator

I've already tried the square root button and it didnt work for numbers without exact square roots.

If, for example, you're getting the square root of 3 as the square root of 3, press the S-D button (just above the DEL) button to convert the symbolic result to a decimal result.

If you want all results to come up in decimal, press SHIFT SETUP 2 to select the LineIO mode.

To calculate a square root you press the square root key. A radical will be displayed. You type in the positive number whose root you want. Press the EXE key.

If you get a symbolic result, press S-D to convert or else press SHIFT ENTER instead of ENTER. If you don't want to see any symbolic results, press SHIFT MODE 2 to switch to the LineIO mode.

Press the square root key then enter a positive number. If the screen displays a left parenthesis, close the right parenthesis before pressing the =/EXE key at the bottom right of the keypad.

Two buttons under the shift key-(top left key) and to the right one is the square root key. Just push it and put the number in...it is not manditory to close the parentesis. You can also hit shift before the square root key to get the cubed root.
