When I am watching a TV show or a movie the music in the background drowns out the talking on the TV. How can I adjust that so I can hear the conversations more clearly?
Are you cming out of the TV into the sound bar, or out of a separate amplifier. TVs have several audio settings based on your audio system. You may wish to scroll through your TVs audio settings, trying each one to see which is most effective with your external sound bar.Are you cming out of the TV into the sound bar, or out of a separate amplifier. It's because the TV's audio is stereo and the dialogue is mono split between two channels. When dialogue hits your headphones the majority of the mono signal gets cancelled. Try a different set of headphones or watch true stereo channels... IE movie channels
Looks like you have inadvertently enabled some sound effect, usually these effects can be enabled/ disabled form sounds menu. They will have names like surround, movie hall, concert etc. Go to the sound settings and disable any activated audio effects.
what you need to do is go into the equliser and adjust the settings till you are happy with it this is the only way to do it i would also maybe advise a surround sound system for around 70 dollars as you said your picture is great you may as well get surround sound to go with your home cinema experience the problem is it depends on ur hearing you may be able to adjust the equliser this would solve anyones problem but with some people their hearing is a bit more selective the tiny little speakers used in these systems make annoying background noisethe only thing i could advise is a surround sound sytem if you still notice it when you adjust the equliser but trust me it is not ur tv it is how good ur hearing is i hate a tv with tiny speakers
on some dvd players and surround sound systems have a thing called DRC (dynamic range compression) you can us that and it will help it a little. i have come across the same problem but im after a digital on to run with plex or vlc on a mac. im having to route it through protools to use a compressor on there, but thats eating my resources.
I had the same problem and found that there was a connection problem with the center speaker. Do a sound check on all speakers and see if the sound is coming out of the center one. If not then just check you have connected it properly.
Thank you, everyone! I thought maybe I was losing my mind. I can hardly watch a lot of the TV shows anymore due to the inappropriate use of music -- either it's too loud or there's just too darned much of it. Come on, TV producers! You are supposed to get better with time, not worse! Thank goodness I'm not alone.
Try adjusting the sound on the tv. If you go into the "user" audio options you can select between normal and True Surround SXT. That may work. Otherwise, try playing with your dvd player's options. The problem I'm having is the tv plays the sound before the picture.
