If you lift the front center of your printer, you will be able to see where the ink cartridge is located.

I have repaced all colours of ink, but the black is ot being recognised, i says 'unkown' please advise. Thanks

Can you please state which printer you are using anyways try this - 1. press the ink replacement button so that the carriage moves to the ink replacement position 2. pull out the black cartridge 3. put it back and press it till you hear a click (but don't break it) 4. again press the ink replacement button.
Now the printer will be able to recognize the cartridge. Repeat if not solved.

In the maintenance section Inkjet Cartridge Repacement does not work. The cartridge does not move into position to be replaced.

Hi!

Does it make a grinding noise when you change the button to replace the ink? As if it is trying to move the cartridge holder to a position where you can replace the ink?

If the cartridge holder has like a lock to keep the ink cartridges in place, try to use a flat object that you may insert to push it down.

One or two things- you may have not close that ink latch properly so it won't move, or the mechanism for printer is damaged.

Thanks for your time and using Fixya Online Support. Cheers!

I am getting a message on screen saying that the waste ink collector is full. It is telling me to contact service. What can I do myself? Canon Pixma iP 6210D

Hello sir; You have to clean upthe ink collector by yourself, the procedure as follow; turn on the power open the top part ( same as when repace the cartridge) let cartridge carrrier move to the center then UN-PLUG the power, now you may move the carriage freely, move it to all the wayto the opposite direction from the ink collector, now you can clean the cell, after you clean up, turn the power switch off before you plug in the power cord.

The notice is coming up "check ink U051 Black and colour". I've repaced bouth cartridges, nothing happened, i also tried to do a cartridge clean but it seems to be stuck and nothing wants to happen? what...

Are you using a factory new ink cartridge?
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.

Repaced ink cartridges,

I think it is not recognizing the new cartridges. Try to clean the slots of the cartridges where you place them. Try to clean cartridges bottom.

Than go to windows open the software installation CD provided and recalibrate the printer and there could be one more option to try.

If my advice helps you out rate me.

Thanks

Will not recognise new ink cartridge

This is not a driver issue. You say that you have used this printer for years, if this is so then chances are the printhead has finally gone. If this is the case then not matter what cartridge you put in it wont be recognised. A new printhead is anywhere between £75-£95 and not very easy to fit. It looks like its time for a new printer.
