On running I get a prompt can not " can not create output file c:\scanjet\english\setup.exe

1) Ur cd i damnged
2) U have a problem with registry

I recomended you to use this software first :

After u have used this software to clean up ur registry change the directory ( do not save installing files on PROGRAM FILES SIMPLE CREATE ONE FOLLDER AND save installation folders there)

Make sure you have downloaded both the TWAIN driver and VIA driver (two separate driver downloads) and then download the Canon Toolbox software and restart the computer with the USB cable plugged into your USB port

HP Scanjet 5300cse, setup.exe file will not run using windows XP
Whats your hardware.
Try this solution...
Does it show up in your hardware profiles? What does it say on details when you right click the scanner? When you installed the driver, was it before your plugged in the USB? You may have to uninstall and reinstall it again, this time use the one from HP's website with any patch if applicable.

If you have successfully used it in the past, follow the install prompts and restart.. instead of using the products software, use Windows included scanning2_bing.gif program which is much better than the proprietary one designed by HP. As long as you have the proper driver installed your system will know how to apply it.

Software for HP Scanjet 3200C, OS = WinXP
try this link with HP , they dont have the scanjet 3200c listed anymore , but try the software for the scanjet 3400c , it should work for your scanner , hope it helps AJ
