Question about Samsung CLP-500 Laser Printer

Samsung CLP 500 series Laser Printer

I have the above printer and I keep getting error messages. Replace Transfer belt and replace Imageing unit. I have replaced both and I still am getting the errors. I have tried unplugging, restarting and shutting down but it will not reset. If I just leave the printer on it gets hot and shuts itsef off. Can you help me? Deb

Re: Samsung CLP 500 series Laser Printer

If the messages are because the two units have reached their rated page count, you need to reset this via the printer menu system - see user handbook

Samsung CLP 500 Error message 'Replace transfer roller'

You need to enter the hidden engineer menu: turn the printer off then turn on again whilst holding down the enter key on the control panel. It should say something like EDC menu on the display and you can scroll through several menus to find the one about resetting counters. Be careful not to play with other options as you can screw the printer up if you don't know what you're doing!

"Lever Unlocking Error" Message

Probably a bad connection between the transfer belt contacts and those inside the machine - clean any dirt/toner off them and make sure they aren't bent out of position and try again.

Samsung 600N transfer belt

I fought the "replace transfer belt" message for quite awhile. Then I finally realized I was trying to close the toner cartridge door BEFORE I closed the lid above it. (The printer was close to a wall so I couldn't see the "open and close in this sequence" signs on the cartridge door.) Once I closed them in the proper order, I stopped seeing that message. Janet
