Printer Grabs corner of the paper and jams

My Epson printer grabs only the right corner of the paper when printing, wrinkles it and stops feeding it through. Help! We can't get anything to print. Very frustrated, this printer is only 1 year old.

Epson Stylus CX3810 printer/scanner purchased abt. a year ago has same problem....When trying to print, the machine grabs corner of the paper being fed so wrinkles the paper and jams or stops feeding the paper.'

This seems to be a common problem....this problem should be resolved by now.

Had the same problem, after reading this thread I hold it upside down and a quarter popped out!!!

I told my wife it was not necesary to put coins in the printer for it to work (joke, I probably threw it in by mistake).

It is a design flaw of the printer, things fall inside because people (including me) leave things on top of the scanner cover, which happened next to the paper feeder.

I had the same problem and what I finally noticed was that something had falled off the shelf above and lodged itself way up in the paper feed slot. It was basically invisible at first and produced the exact symptoms that you described. Unplug, hold upside down and give it a good shake. It's worth a shot.

Epson stylus sx435w says paper out.

If your Epson Stylus SX435W is indicating that there is no paper even though there is paper loaded, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Check that the paper is loaded correctly: Ensure that the paper is loaded into the printer's paper tray or cassette correctly. Make sure that the paper is aligned properly and not too tightly or too loosely loaded. Also, make sure that the paper is not curled or wrinkled.
  2. Check for paper jams: If the printer sounds like the wheels are turning to engage the paper but the paper doesn't move, there may be a paper jam. Carefully check for any paper jams, and remove any paper that may be causing the problem.
  3. Clean the paper feed rollers: Over time, the paper feed rollers can get dirty or covered in debris, causing them to slip and not grab the paper properly. Use a lint-free cloth dampened with water to clean the rollers. Be sure to let them dry completely before attempting to print again.
  4. Reset the printer: Sometimes resetting the printer can clear any errors or issues that are causing the "paper out" message. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in and turn it on again.
If none of these steps solve the problem, you may need to contact Epson support or take your printer to a service center for further assistance.

Epson C86: paper not feeding and prints at an angle

try feeding the paper through manually if you cant do this then try printing a blank page and see if this still wrecks the paper if it does then it does sound like something is jammed on the roller the best way to clean this is with a blast of air from a compressor this is the only sollution as it will cost more to replace the parts than it would to buy another printer if it is still under warranty they should replace it for you if not you could take it to a computer repair shop where they will strip it down adn rebuild it for you this is a paper feed problem but im sure their must be somethig sticking in the way or maybe the paper feed has come lose at the one end sorry i couldnt help you any more ........................................

It grabs the paper crookedly and causes it to

If you have previously had a paper jam, and it tore the paper, there could be a very tiny piece of paper stuck in the feed on the side...it only takes something very tiny to prevent the paper from feeding correctly...a child dropping a little piece of food, it could be anything...but I'd be about 90% sure that it's there. I found one once and it was so small it took forever to find it, and it was even harder to get out...you kind of have to work at it with some Q-tips, eyebrow tweezers2_bing.gif, a paperclip, something that you can go in and attempt to clear the feed. If you dont/can't find it you may have to take it apart, and that's not fun, and runs the risk of it "never" aligning correctly...so be persistant.

FYI...I had another guy with the very same post today, and gave him the same suggestion...he found a pen cap in the back of his printer, LOL...so get a flashlite, some very small tools, and have a look-see.

Epson Stylus Photo R350 giving a paper jam error message

An Epson service man (he was VERY kind to suggest this) told me to use a weak detergent solution on the rollers, NOT alcohol as that will dry out the material the rollers are made of. Although the problem has recurred a couple of times, it's worth repeating when necessary. I actually activate the 'print' command so it tries to feed in paper, while I FIRMLY hold a piece of fine cotton cloth stretched over a thin plastic ruler, which I hold down where the paper feed grabs its paper. The printer has a couple of tries to feed paper, reports an error message (because there was no paper) and I activate it again, thus exposing the WHOLE of the feed wheel to the cleansing cloth! WORTH A TRY!

Paper does not feed - GRABS RIGHT SIDE

gears below the paper feeding tray are damaged or some dust particle have blocked the gears try to clean it by blowing the dust use normal greece (oily substance) between the gears so that they can move frequently to pull the paper, and if the gears are damaged you have to change the gears.

My epson cs7800

I had the same problem and found a small spring was loose and interfering with the paper. The Spring was on the right side as you look at the printer, near the bottom of the paper feeder. I took it out and it works fine, for now.
