I can't open email message in Outlook on my iPAQ

I can't open email messages in Outlook on my iPAQ. When I tap message title or sender's name, nothing happens. The windows logo that appears to show the device is "thinking" only blinks on for a second, then disappears. It is as though the links in my inbox don't work. However, when I tap side bar buttons (such as the "inbox" button), some of those work.

When my friend set up my computer he put his email in as back up if ever I had trouble he could access my computer. Now every time I send an email it reads from him & a lot of my friends won't even open it...

Every email message lists a sender name in the "From" field.
This name is defined by the value you entered in your email client when you first configured your account.
If you marry, divorce or need to change your name for any other reason, common email clients, including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express and web-based services such as Windows Live Hotmail and Gmail, give you the ability to change the sender name to any alternate value with just a few clicks.

Click the "File" button near the top-left corner of the screen, select "Info" and click "Account Settings."
Select the name of your email account, and click the adjacent "Change" button.

Enter your preferred sender name in the "Your Name" field.

Click "Next," followed by "Finish," to confirm the change.

Microsoft Outlook Express 6

Click "Tools" in the top menu bar, and select "Accounts."

Select the "Mail" tab in the resulting dialog box.

Select the name of your email account, and click the adjacent "Properties" button.

Select the "General" tab on the screen that follows, and enter your preferred sender name in the "Name" field.

Click "OK," followed by "Close," to confirm your change.

Windows Live Hotmail

Log into your Windows Live Hotmail account.

Click the "Options" button near the top-right corner of the window, and select "More Options."

Click the "Account details" link located below the "Managing your account" heading.

Locate your name on the following screen, and click the adjacent "Change" link.

Enter your preferred sender name using the "First name" and "Last name" fields, and click "Save."

Gmail

Log into your Gmail account.

Click the "Settings" link located near the top-right corner of the window.

Click the "Accounts and Import" link on the screen that follows.

Look to the "Send mail as" section, locate your email address and click the adjacent "Edit info" link.

Enter your preferred sender name in the "Name" field, and click "Save Changes."

When opening emails on outlook express, same emails return even after deleting and blocking senders, plus got message 5 out of twenty downloaded but then will not deliver anymore

first make sure you empty your deleted and junk folders. In message rules make a new rule and use part of the senders name you want to block and select do not download from server. Some annoying mailers mail spam under similar addresses so it is hard to tell them apart at a glance. for ie. if you are getting unwanted mail from "[email protected]" make your rule for when the senders name contains words or phrases such as 'thehell' that way whaever this idiot is sending you will not be downloaded. You can even go further and create a response to them by adding a rule that will send them a whole bunch of spam automatically. Good Luck

Outlook Express Not Receiving Attachments From One Sender

  1. Open Outlook Express
  2. Click on Tools->Message Rules->Mail
  3. Check the Mail Rules and Blocked Senders tabs
This is just a preliminary check for anything that may be modified that could be causing your problem. Since the issue is with a specific sender, I would check there first.
