Hi There, Just bought a new Nuvi 255, I was just driving to a destination and out of sudden, my GPS got a message mentioning, loss connection to sattelite. It stayed on for like 30 mins, till I reach my destination, this happen a few times in a day...very very frustrating.

Just keep on typing the name to completion (city, state), it should find it then.

Refer to Page 8 of your owner's manual:
On the main screen, touch "Where to?", then enter the state, city and address at the next screen. Once you've entered the information, touch the address and your unit will probably ask "Navigate to there?" and confirm... and off you go. You can save addresses to your Favorites list as well.

on the main board there is a protector unit that burn instead of the main board it could be that its short or the cable or the connctor to the gps is short

Have you tried resetting the GPS,the reset buuton is on the bottom of the GPS under the serial number,
press and hold the reset button for several seconds.
If this fails try rebooting by holding the Power switch on for about 15 seconds.

Change the mini usb cable. Some mini usb cable are for charging and not data. It happen to me and used the externo hard drive usb mini cable and zapppppp my computer nows read the gps and gave it a drive (h:\). hope it works for you.
