- I found the both LCD/hinge on eBay (around 10$ + shipment), and thanks to Tom19511 I found and download the service manual of d600. In two hours I open the laptop and replace both hinge, now is working perfectly!! Problem fixed!

-   The hinges on my D600 both broke, I thought? So I bought used hinges from a computer shop, but much to my surprise when I got it apart, the hinges were fine, but the sleeves they go into were broken! I can not find anywhere, replacement parts and do not know the part number or what to call them. Can anyone help? -   cameraeye

-   I have the same problem AGAIN. I fixed the right hinge, the left seemed ok. Now both hinges are broken along with what the right hinge attaches to. This time hinges are twice as much as they were a few months ago. No more Dells for me!

Here you can download the service manual for your laptop.
It will show you what you need to know.

- Julius80, I am glad to hear that you fixed it yourself. You probably saved a lot of money. (unfortunate for me, LOL) That is what this site is for. Thanks for the update.

Removing and replacing the hinges and latch are easy. However, you do have to pay close attention to which screws go where.

over assembly comes off (the plastic part with the power button) with a very small flat screw driver, it just pops off, be careful to not bend it much.

once that is done, unscrew the hinge areas and carefully lift the LDC screen top out and lay it down.

There are at least 5 screws under the little rubber dots. you will have to carefully pry these out and maybe get some replacement stops or glue them with rubber cement (recommended). Unscrew the 5 screws and set aside from other screws as to not get them mixed up.

then just as carefully as the step one, unsnap the cover from the LDC side of the screen. you will not how the assembly goes together. If your memory is not that good I suggest taking pictures of how and where it goes back together. there are going to be 2 micro screws DO NOT GET THE MIXED UP. once it practacally falls apart, I suggest laying each of the parts right next to the outside edge of the parts you are replacing.

Now just carefully swap each one out remove the latch first and set aside since it will be the last to go, then remove each side one at a time replacing with new hinge as you go.

once you have replaced the left and right side then place the latch back and begin screwing the assembly back together. and check for holes missed at least twice.

carefully position the posts downward and slip the LCD in place. you may want to carfully push back the LCD flat since that makes it easier to get to the screws that anchor the LCD to lower half of the computer. then just snap the hinge ocver carefully.

NOTE, the Bottom portion of the LCD screen cover is very thin, but it wask a small amount of force to snap the cover together. happy repairing.

MATE THE BEST SOLUTION TO THIS IS ON THE SCREEN THERE ARE RUBBER THINGS ON THEIR TAKE THE 6 ROUND ONES OF AND UNDER THEM ARE SCREW USING A SMALL PHILIPS UN SCREW THE SCREWS. ONCE YOU HAVE DONE TAKE THE FRONT PART OF THE SCREEN AND U WILL BE ABLE TO SEE FURTHER. U IWLL BE ABLE TO SEE THE HINGES SO TH HINGE WHICH IS BROKEN ALL YOU HASVE TO DO IS TAKE IT OUT AND REPLACE IT WITH THE EXACT SAME HING.
