I have a GE front load washer and the door lock mechanism is in the locked position and the door is open. How do I 'reset' it. I have unplugged it for several (30+) minutes and tried it again, but it does not disengage.

If your Kenmore front load washer door is locked and you are unable to open it, you can try the following steps:
Make sure the washer is powered off and unplugged from the electrical outlet for at least 10 minutes. This can reset the control board and possibly unlock the door.
Check if there is any visible obstruction preventing the door from opening, such as clothes or laundry detergent pods stuck in the latch mechanism. Carefully remove any obstructions if found.
Look for a manual release mechanism on the front of the washer. Some models have a small access panel near the bottom or a pull cord that can be used to manually unlock the door. Refer to your washer's manual for instructions on locating and using the manual release mechanism.
If the above steps do not work, you may need to contact Kenmore customer support or schedule a service appointment to have a technician assist with unlocking the door. They will have more specific troubleshooting steps for your specific model and can diagnose any potential mechanical or electrical issues causing the door lock problem.
See if manually opening the door will reset everything. Unplug the washer and remove the lower front panel like you're going to clean out the drain catch. Once you remove this panel you can reach up behind the upper front panel and pull down on the small plastic pull tab attached to the bottom of the door lock assembly. This will manually unlock the door so you can open the door.
Now once you have the door open, plug the washer back in and see if you can start another cycle.
DOOR LOCK ERROR After 6 failed attempts to lock the door.
Possible Causes/Procedure Door lock mechanism is broken or removed from door. Door switch/lock unit failure. 1. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 2. Check door switch/lock unit. 3. Check the wire harness connections to the door switch/lock unit and Central Control Unit (CCU).

Sounds like your door is locked. Unplug the unit for 30 minutes then plug it back it hopefully it will reset everything and you will be able to open the door. Then after you get the door open you will need to run some tests to see what is the problem. Check the door lock sensor and the door lock mechanism
My GE Energy Star Front Load Washer is reading 5.9 instead of 59 minutes and not washing clothes. We cleaned the filter and still no luck. Please help.
Perhaps you have to change your lock, this is a sensitive point & will affect the smooth operation of your machine. Re. the inbalance, you hv to screw up & lock the front 2 legs (with check nut), adjust the front legs (screwed up) only to see if the machine does not move during wash/spin.
