THE BOBBIN MUST BE PUSHED IN UNTIL IT IS LOCKED IN. THE BOBBIN CASE (WHERE BOBBIN GOES) HAS A METAL OUTSIDE WITH TWO LITTLE HOLDERS THAT YOU MUST TURN TO HOLD IT IN PLACE.

SOURCE: my thread in the bobbin keeps getting jammed up

Here are some possible solutions:
1) Try a new bobbin, and if you wind your own, make sure it is wound very tightly
2) Take the bobbin case out and make sure there are no stray threads stuck down there, they can wreak havoc! To do this, unscrew your throat plate and lift the bobbin case out. Then use your lint brush that came with the machine, or another small soft brush and give it a thorough cleaning under there.
Hope these help!

How to repair a sticky/jammed singer heavy duty 4423

Put a felt spool pin holder (an extra one comes with machine and it's either red or white felt with a circle cut out of it in the center)...remove bobbin, set felt circle in bobbin case to keep bobbin from wiggling. The back and forth motion is knocking the thread out causing it to lay flat against top of the bobbin when you start machine, but felt puts bobbin in correct position! Make sure thread falls into tension slots and carefully pull thread back to left of silver piece (stitch finger). Pull up your bobbin thread. Put in new needle since "bird nesting" or jam may have bent the one previously used. Now it should purr like a kitten...smooth sailing! This is how I fixed my Singer Heavy Duty 4423 when I realized the problem is that the bobbin case is a bit wide and felt takes up slack, raising bobbin also to keep bobbin thread moving smoothly through so it doesn't jump out of tension and rest on top of bobbin!!! Works now!

I tried to change the bobbin and the machine would not run, so I took it out and now I can't get bobbin out of the holder. It appears to be stuck.

The lever on the front of the bobbin holder locks the bobbin so it does not fall out when you insert the assembly. Do not lift the lever when you try get the bobbin out, it should just fall into your hand. If it does not, look to see if the latch on the lever has not jammed on the bobbin.

My bobbine case falls out and jams my machine everytime i use it. how do i fix this?

I would try using a new bobbin case first, yours may be damaged or broken and creating the problem. I think the case should be about 10-15 dollars to buy.

Keeps getting jammed

Hello,
Give these solutions a try.

* Un-thread your machine and remove your bobbin. Clean any loose thread or lint out of your
bobbin case. Re-thread your machine, reinsert and re-thread your bobbin.

* Change your bobbin as there could be a nick along the edge of your bobbin spool that’s catching your thread as you sew.

* When you start to sew a seam, Hold the upper and bobbin thread tails back and out of the way as you sew your first couple of stitches. This will keep them from getting jammed in your machine.

I hope this helps.

Bobbin case case keeps jamming

I am having somewhat the same problem with the exception that my needle did not break. I've cleaned and oil, but the bobbin case and projection positioned spring is not communicating to allow sewing to continue. The thread keeps jamming and the bobbin raises up the plate. So, what else am I to do?
