i bought call of duty 4 modorn warfare and the game has static blocks all over the place. i was wondering if it could be the resolution on my tv. we have a 40 in hdmi made buy jvc

-   I also bought COD4 and it was playing fine and now my PS3 will come one with the start screen and then it will go all static and multiple colors will come one the screen. Now the PS3 will not work with any game and is totally jacked up. what happened-   ninetoes1

oh its a easy fix... dump the worthless ps3 and get a 360 a real system....

Sounds like you were affected by the overlapping firmware updates.

You will need to format the hard drive.

Under Settings > System Settings > Format Utility

Unfortunately its painful to loose all that stuff but you will be happier when its working again.
