Where is the water filter located in Maytag fridge and how do I replace it?

you can add water filter. It is installed on supply line. go to Home Depot and pick up a refrigerator water filter kit with accessories.

Are you sure its the water line? It may be an inside filter in the fridge. If its the water line, simply slide fridge out and after turning water off, turn it back on and run into a bucket. It may be filter though, and that's easy to replace in back of fridge.

1) Can you turn up the water pressure with a valve that might control the water connected to the fridge?
2) If there is a plastic water supply tube in back of the fridge you may want to disconnect it and see if there is ample water going through or try replacing it to see if it may be the problem.

Replace the water filter. If you replaced your water filter, depending on the fridge, they have two filter models. One is a fast fill filter (has less media and takes out less contaminants). The other filter is a better filter and takes out more contaminants (because it has more media) and will slow down the water pressure.

Wherever your filter is located the actual piece that you plug the filter into is either clogged or restricted it and it's called the filter head and that is what needs to be replaced. Before attempting to replace the filter head try removing your filter and see if the hammering and grinding sound goes away. If the noise goes away then you simply just need a new filter.

There is few things that could be the problem. 1. filter is clogged or not seated all the way. 2.Bad filter holder, check valve sticking. 3. Bad water valve. I hope this helps.

There is an inline water filter to supply your system. It's usually located at the water connection at the back of the fridge. These filters are sensitive and it could be plugged.
