Question about Parsons QuickVerse 2005 Expanded Edition (11149)

Quickverse 5.0 Hi- I just bought a new Dell 531/Vista OS. Trying to load my old Quickverse 5.0, it tells me, for example, there is insufficient space- that it will require 500 meg abd there's only 275 gig of space to fit that 500 meg into! Is the software just too old or is Vista just a finnicky OS?ThanksJPG

I don't think it's a Vista problem. I'm having the same problem with XP Pro.

I have QuickVerse 7.0. I have it on my laptop with XP and it works great.
I have a new Gateway GT5432 and would like to use my QuickVerse on the new desktop. I have installed it and all seems to be on there right but when I try to pull it up I get this message. (Failure to register the component
"QVEDIT.OCX" Make sure the file is in the program directory.) I have checked and find it in the program files. I have check all I know to do but still get the same message and cannot use QuickVerse 7.0. Help please.

I had the same problem with QuickVerse 7.0 on Windows Vista. I took a cue from one of the other posts here and finally solved my problem. Right-click on the QickVerse icon, click on the Compatibility tab, and near the bottom of the box, check "Run this program as an administrator." User Account Control may interfere with your ability to do this, so you may need to turn it off, restart your computer, make the changes, and then turn User Account Control back on after you are done.

I had the same problem [Quickverse 7 on a Vista OS] but my fix was a little longer. On my right click on the icon I didn't get a Compaibility tab. I went down to "properties" then in properties the tab for compatibility shows up. Click on "Run this program as an administrator." This worked fine for me. And this site rocks with so much great information - thanks everyone for your input and for sharing!

I have Quickverse 5.0 The only solution for me is in whichever version of Windows I am using I have to use the compatiblity setting of Windows 98 and Disable Visual Themes. It then installs every time, but only with those settings

I had the same problem with QuickVerse 7.0 on Windows Vista. I took a cue from one of the other posted solutions and finally solved my problem. Right-click on the QuickVerse icon, then click on the Compatibility tab. Near the bottom of the box is a place to check "Run this program as an administrator." This solved my problem. User Account Control may interfere with your ability to make this change. You may have to turn User Account Control off, restart your computer, make the changes, then turn User Account Control back on. This was really frustrating and time-consuming, but this website put me on the right track to solve my problem. Thanks!

See the prob re Quickverse V7 and Vista, it's similar.
On CD#1 go to 'setup' right click, change compatibility to W95.
follow the above for administrators rights.
Load your CD's
Change the Icon (right click) to compatibility to XP
Mine worked a treat, those cd's take a while to load
Regards, hope it works for you

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Wow! Where to start? First of all if the computer has Windows XP loaded on it that is no longer supported by Microsoft. If you want to re-install an OS (operating system software) I would suggest Windows 7.

No disk

The issue is that the PC's from Dell, HP, Gateway, etc all have what's called OEM licenses. If you look around on the PC/Laptop, you should find a Windows sticker that says exactly what is to be loaded onto it (Windows XP Service Pack 2, for example). Sometimes the manufacturer will make a partition to load the install to on the hard drive - so the first thing to check is if there is 'boot options' key on startup - see if you have a recovery console or a factory settings area.
If you where to try and install a copy that doesn't match, it will fail outright. If you install it to another PC and image it over - it will need you to repair it, and won't let you do that without the proper disc. Your best bet might be to look on eBay or on the manufacturers site for a match for the OEM sticker - "Dell OEM Windows XP Home SP2" for example.
Hope that helps.

No it looks like they stopped the support at the old one, this means they did'nt make any drivers for the old one to function on vista.
Vista uses a very diferent driver model than xp does.
The drivers for xp won't work in any way on vista.

try to run again the system restore cd, what OS you are using? is it old or new acer laptop?
if you have new laptop with Vista OS it should be ok.
if you have new laptop design for vista but rather installed XP maybe you will encounter difficulties loading drivers if you dont have xp driver cd (acer provided)
if you have old laptop with XP OS it should be ok.
if you have old laptop w/ lower memory and trying to install Vista it will not work or you will incounter difficulties

Insufficient space to index your content

I would suggest going to the rio site, http://www.digitalnetworksna.com/support/rio/product.asp?prodID=235. Downloading the latest version of the rio music manager. See if,once the manager is loaded, you can access your music. What OS did you load? Are you using MS indexer or Google?
