My cd player of my suzuki swift will not play my cds it keeps displaying error 1 what does this mean?

• bad CD
• wrong CD
• or CD drive bad.

not told you,.what is on that CD

off the shelf music CD, called CD_DA disks, real music disks
or copies of CD to CD-R recorded media
or a mix CD from friends, in MP3 format or 20 other formats no car can play

thats what i do with mine ,the phone thing but error E 1 means that a cd is jammed in the unit,happens to me all the time as i only use it for jaguar meetings .Now what you do is to pull out the cartridge and remove all the CDS then re insert it and press the eject button again and it might if your lucky retrive the cd in the player and return it to the cartridge ,.then refit all the others till it happens again

real fresh CDDA music discs, real as in not copied? or ripped?
store bought CD, that fails.?

the the CD drive is bad. get it serviced or upgrade it to USB,
and put your music on stick and end CDs for ever. and ever like us..
or use aux port and MP3 player for $20

I had the error code no. 1 in my 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid. It has the CD radio unit with JBL system. It will not eject the CD, or play it. I removed the entire radio/CD unit and replaced it with a used excellent unit bought off of ebay for $100, and the replacement works fine. However the replacement is also 7 years old. Therefore I would not be surprised if it failed again. Prior to the error 1 I had intermittent error 3 codes, which had the same effect: no playing of the CD, unable to eject, and unable to insert other CDs. Sometimes the error codes would go away, and the function would be normal. But once it started, I think it was on a downhill path. A new replacement is nearly $2000. Used are about $100 to $200 or more depending on the seller and condition of the unit. Youtube has videos on how to replace the unit which only requires simple tools: it is not difficult but takes about 45 minutes to an hour. If you do it you have to put the car in gear to move the gear shift gate, which requires the car to be on, so you should have the parking brake on for safety. One alternative is to send your unit to a repair company but that might cost more than simply replacing the unit. Good luck!

Take out #7 and #31 fuses. Start the vehicle, the radio/cd will not come on. Shut the vehicle off and replace the fuses. Start the vehicle again and you shoud hear the cd player cycling through the cds. Be patient and let it go through the process. Then play/eject/load cds. It worked for me.

Your car is in warranty; go back to the dealer.

If the CD is over 60 minutes it will not play on domestic cars

ok error code 1, look for this error code on your owners manual, toyota cd players give 3 error codes, this mean error code 1, error code 2, and error code 3, they all have different meaning please check owners manuel to see what does error 1 mean i will try looking for you

Try getting a cd cleaning tool come with a disk with tiny brushes on it and cleaning solution to clean the eye or if you are using burned cds try and see what format you are buring such as mp3s mp4s some cd player only will play a certain formats such as mp3s.

If you are using "home-made" or "burnt" CDs, this can happen. Sometimes, you can remove the radio from the dash, and unplug it. That may reset the CD player, and the discs will eject.
It works for me about 85% of the time. Hope this helps.
