Needle in viking sewing machine won't go all the way up in the holder, why?

Went to change the needle like I always have before and for some reason this time it will not go all the way up in the holder, it is solid stop, no lint or material stuck in it.

Silly question, but are you sure you have the correct needles. Some are round and some have a flat side. Just wondering! :-)

AVR Computerised Sewing Machine, the needle when going down scraps the bottom of the bobbin case and doesn't drag the thread through??? What do I do??

try changing the needle, make sure the needle is inserted correct into the needle holder, make sure the bobbin is inserted correctly into the bobbin holder, also could be the needle bar may need a adjustment,, when you'd have to take it to a sewing machine repair shop.

Why does the needle hit presser foot?

Did you change the stitch selection, or have it on a stitch that is too wide for the foot that is attached?

Bobbin won't spin to allow needle to catch thread

sometimes when you break a needle it can cause the machine to
jump time, the machine would have to be taken to a sewing machine
shop to be checked by the technican

Needle won't pick up bobbin thread

check to make sure that the needle was put into the needle holder correctly
all the way up into the needle holder--flat side of the needle to the back side of the machine
if the machine still doesn't up the bobbin thread then
it's possible that when the needle broke that it caused the machine to go out of time which means it has to be retime at a sewing machine shop

Just changed the needle on the machine and now it won't sew... the reason it was changed was because the needle broke... now it won't sew with a new needle??? what could be the problem???

Firstly check that needle has been placed into the needle holder the right way, ie flat shank to the back. If you look closely at the needle there is a cut away at the back called the "Scarf" and this must face to the back of the machine as the rotary hook swings through there and catches the thread to make each stitch.

Also, check needle is fully up into the housing.

There is some good trouble shooting tips and tricks on this website. http://www.sewusa.com/Sewing_Machine_Repair/Sewing%20Machine%20Troubleshooting.htm

So check needle is in the right way, check threading up is correct and thread is in the needle eye. If none of these resolve the issue, then it is possible you knocked the timing out when you broke the needle. Remember, never drag fabric as it is stitched, let the machine feed it, you just guide it. Dragging is a sure fire way to break a needle.

If timing is out, (you can see info on what this means on www.sewusa.com site too) then you probably need to take it for a service to address this issue.

My needle keeps hitting the plastic bobbin holder - how can I fix this? Is the bobbin holder inserted wrong?

change the needle and see if it is still hitting because once they hit the case or the feed dog they very often get bent always change needles with different fabrics and types of thread

Change needles

Look at the top of the needle where it is inserted in the needle holder. There are spaces for 4 needles - A B C and D. Most likely you are using the backmost needle positions - C & D. Look on the needle holder there are little wholes which are sctually screw holes that can be loosened and tightened using a Torx 6 screw driver (available at Sears) if you no longer have the needle changer screw driver. By turning the screw, the needle is eeither tightened or loosened. Be careful that when you loosen the needle it does not fall through the machine. Put a slip of paper on the needle plate below the needle to catch the needles when they are losened. You have a great machine in the Huskylock 936 and well worth keeping it serviced by a certified Husqvarna Viking service technician. You can locate a dealer near you by visiting the husqvarna viking website and clicking on the Dealer link on the left-hand side of the page - http://www.husqvarnaviking.com

Good luck.

I have a Husqvarna Emma sewing machine. The needle broke and a piece is under the bobbin holder. How can I get under the bobbin holder?

I was able to gain entrance into the area by taking out 1 screw (star head), slightly pulling on the plastic compartment to cause a small opening. I then tilted the machine and the needle fell out. The screw is located on the rear of the sewing machine, right behind the bobbin compartment. A flat head screw is also needed to "Pry" open the plastic.
