I had Att DSL and never had an issue with my bluray player. I switched to charter Internet and now my Samsung BDP-1590 bluray player will not connect to the internet. Any ideas? I have reset the bluray. I have played with the network connections on the bluray.

If you're using the same router, nothing should have changed. If you're using a different router, you will need to connect to the network from the blu-Ray player, providing the network pass phrase/preshared key. You could try using an Ethernet cable from the router to the BD player and see if it works that way. This is assuming your network is up and the rest of your devices work fine.

Hope this helps!

Black Screen - No Signal when connect Bluray to TV with HDMI

I just had the same issue and I believe it was because the sound bar was turned off. The solution was turning on all of my connected equipment such as my sound bar, cable box, tv, blu-ray player, and internet router. It stopped "disconnecting" after only 30 secs of being turned on. I think it was because my husband connected it to all those things in some way so the settings are set to work with those pieces of equipment. With one powered off, in my case the sound bar, the signal can't run full circle and reads as if cut off. Please excuse my nontechnical terminology.

Sony bluray bdp-n460 blinking wait

I just had this problem on a BDP-N460. I had just moved to a new house and now using HDMI instead of componet, I also tried to do a firmware upgrade when I didn't have internet connection to by Bluray player.

Called Sony and they said memeory was correcupted and it required repair.

As a last resort I downloaded the latest firmware from sony onto my computer and burned it to CD-R (even though I was already at the latest version). I popped the disk in and almost immediatly it said I was already updated. After that all was working without issue.

Not sure what happened or what caused it but its working now.

Connection status cannot be confirmed the service requested was not found the server returned with the following reference code 300 on all blu ray options

I have sony bluray disc player S370 I went to set up scrolled down to resetting selected "reset to factory default settings" scrolled down and selected "system settings" and selected "start" turned off the dvd player waited about 5 seconds and turned it back on. Choose netflix, which is what I was having trouble with in the first place, and it connected. I haven't tried other internet connections through the system, however, if this is truly a sony server issue, it should correct any internet connection issue you may be having.

I have an at&t 2wire 2701hg-b but i dont have at&t internet i have charter and i am not able to figure out how to get my internet to work with this router please help

att 2 wire is a Adsl Modem (Requires a telephone line jack to get the signals) but charter communication is a cable internet service (not DSL) , Requires a TV cable service for internet .
These two jacks differs and there working differs ..
Means : Att works with the username and password type of authentication but charter requires the MAC address of modem for authentication .
Therefore for a cable internet 2wire 2701hg-b modem cant be used . But yes in case charters has username and password authentication and works with the telephone jack in house then its possible to use the same modem.

How do i get my netflix activation code for my Samsung bluray?

After you have successfully connected your bluray player to the internet either by connecting it directly to your modem, using a wireless adapter to connect it to your modem wirelessly, or connected it to your phone jack in the wall (dsl), you will be able to use your bluray player's remote to navigate to the part of the menu where you can access netflix. When you select netflix and go through a prompt or two that you'll be directed to you'll get the activation code. You will then go to your computer or smart phone and go to www.netflix.com/activate where you'll enter the code. Then your bluray player will be ready to stream netflix. Then when you go back to the netflix area of the bluray player you'll be prompted to enter your netflix login (username and password).

I recently bought a Sony Blu-Ray BDP-S370. The issue I have is that it will not play any DVD's on my Samsung HD TV The message "Mode not supported keeps coming up" Thanks

When you see "Mode Not Supported," hold down the "stop" button on the Bluray player for about 15 seconds and release it. This should reset the player to the lowest resolution over HDMI.

Check other Bluray player settings such as deep color, resolution etc. for conflicts.

My new BluRay player has HDMI output for both sound and video. My Receiver, however, does not have the HDMI inputs. Can I use HDMI direct to TV, and use Optical connection to receiver for audio? Sony...

Yes, you can connect the HDMI Cable from the Blu-ray Player to the TV directly and then, connect the Digital Optical cable from the Blu-ray Player to the Receiver.
