Question about Compaq Evo N1020V Notebook
The notebook starts up and work OK, but the screen is blank (sometimes I can see the screen but it's very very faint). When I tilt the display, in one angle it switches and everything is visible and OK. Everytime it is the different angle but in most cases inappropriate for working. In repair services they told me that it cannot be fixed because they have to order a completely new display for a price of a new notebook. After that they always offer me a new notebook. I think they only want to make money when I buy a new one. Could you help me to solve this problem? Thanks a lot. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Before you go out and buy a new laptop, you might want to consider this. The problem, as described would indicate that you may have a LCD cable connector that is loose. To check this out, you will need to access the motherboard to reseat that end of the cable and access the inside of the LCD to reseat the other end. If this doesn't work, you might want to try replacing the LCD cable itself.
