Update BIOS! There was release fixing touchpad problems in October. Just download zip file, unpack, run exe from Windows. It checks version, restarts laptop, updates BIOS and restarts again. Just don't disable power while doing that!!!
If you are a computer admin, then you can go into device manager and uninstall the mouse, then reboot and it should reinstall the drivers for it automatically. You may have a corrupted file.
Try updating the drivers in your system Also check with Aspire to see if there are any BIOS updates you need to install. To update drivers do not use ANY driver update software, instead download them from Aspire and install one at a time.
