I replaced the touch pad and control circuit board due to sun degradation. When I tried to start heater I got the HF code in the read out. It points to replacing gas valve. Am I just changing parts or is there a way to test the valve? I hear the rapid clicking of the igniter but no click of the valve. Any advice would be appreciated.
HF is a flame sense failure. make sure the off\on switch is in the on position (on gas valve in heater) if you are using an automation system, you should see BO when the pool is running and heat is not called for. if this is the case, you need to take the heater off of remote control and try to manually call for heat using the buttons on the heater. if it fires, that would make me think that there is a compatability issue between the new board on heater and old board on automation.

Code "CE" stands for communication error and describes a fault between the mother board and the display. I doubt it's the relay causing it though...
SOURCE: jandy lite2 heater has fl5 error code, all voltages look good
If all voltage test points are within range, then it's 1 of 3 problems: Power Conversion Plug is faulty; Power Control Board is faulty; or Controller is faulty. Jandy says there is no way to test any of these directly. They recommend that you replace both the Power Conversion Plug (~$35) and the Power Control Board (~$230). Apparently when one fails, it can cause the other to fail as well. They said that unless the Controller has a lot of corrosion on it, then it probably is not the issue.

You will need a monometer to check gas pressure before and after the valve and a voltmeter to check for voltage at the valve.
Hook up the monometer and watch for pressure drop during the ignition phase. If it does and the heater won't light your problem is in the ignitor or control board. If it does not your problem is the board or the valve.
Check for voltage at the gas valve to confirm if the valve or the board is the problem.
If you are unfamiliar with these tools you should call a professional. You are working in a potentially dangerous environment.

Here is an answer written by Stephen Dorje. I think it should help.
This means the flame sensor/ignitor has
failed. You are either not getting spark or the burners are not igniting
if you are getting spark, I would recommend replacing the
sensor/ignitor. Pretty inexpensive and a fairly easy fix. Here is the
owners manual for the unit (not Lo Nox)....
