To remove the impeller you will twist the impeller off in a counter clockwise motion. However, the impeller cannot be freed from the motor shaft without first securing the motor shaft.

Impeller replacement

Most pump motors have a circular plastic cap in the center of the motor. Removing this cap will give you access to the motor shaft. Some shafts have a slot for a screwdriver to hold the shaft while you unscrew the impeller or in some cases the impeller bolt. Some are reverse thread so try both directions if it won't loosen.Hope this helps.

Ford lock cylinder replacement

From another Ford owners experiences

If you have the key your golden, if not then your in my boat, from what I've done and read remove the steering wheel first, two Phillips screws hold the center section of the wheel, once you've taken the cover off, move the wires in the way remove the bolt in the center, its 15/16" there may be a wire in one of the holes right next to the center bolt, depress it and then get the infamous steering wheel puller. screw in the bolts and pull the wheel, put that to the side, onve you get that there will be a few more Phillips screws holding yet more stuff in place, remove them, there will be enough slack in the wires you can pull them to the left and down, out of your way, if you have the key turn it on, but don't start the vehicle, you will notice there is a little pin on the inside of the column underneath the lock cylinder itself, depress this and jiggle the key, the lock should pop out.
I however do not have the key, I attempted to drill the pin out, no go, so I started to drill the ignition out where the key goes, that seems to work so far, but it got cold outside so I came in to see if there was an easier way, so far no luck, I hope yours goes better

Hi, I have this Challenger 2HP pump out on the bench but can not separate the pump housing and impeller from the motor. I've removed the 3/8 bolt from the center of the impeller. And the band is off...

Take a look at this picture:
http://www.poolcenter.com/parts_pumps_pacfab_challenger_highflow.htm
Make sure you remove the mounting screws item 15 (2 ea) and item 9 (4 ea)
There are also 3 screws 120 deg apart item 12. Screw holes can be seen on item 2.

The impeller has a Locking screw item 10 that if it is not removed makes it impossible to remove the impeller.

I have a US!1102 AO Smith 1HP Pool Pump Motor. I was told to hold one end of the motor shaft and turn the Impeller clockwise to remove the impeller, I was told NOT to remove the nut at the center of the...

I have never taken this pump apart.
If I were in your position and I could move the impellar 1/8 turn, the next thing that I would do is carefully loosen the nut on the end of the shaft being careful that nothing else disassembles. Once this nut is loose say 2 turns, try the impellar again watching what is moving. It seems that the nut may have to be removed.
Also, I'm not sure which way the nut of the impellar rotates to remove, but you seem to have that under control since you have it moving already.

impeller is jammed onto shaft ,remove motor with 1 bolt ,remove impeller by putting a plastic pen in bottom of motor turn impeller counterclockwise inspect for clearance or obstruction.either replace impeller or do like I did and put a spacer, poor design on keeper circlip caused my problem.I got my spacer from a scooter wheel between the bearings & cut off enough plastic on the impeller shaft for clearance, always good to have a spare scooter wheel laying around!!!!!!
