Hi we have a 2004 mazda tribute. The tires were taken off and put back on this morning now the abs light is on and the only break that works is the emergency break? Any ideas

ABS light remains illuminated when the self test discovers a fault but a faulty abs system should not interfere with the normal operation of the footbrake and if it does it indicates a fault so unusual I have never encountered it before and no one I know has ever encountered it - it is a fault that should not happen and would normally be considered impossible.

Whatever has happened to your brakes - it wasn't caused by simply taking the wheels off and putting them back again. Surely they were removed for a reason - maybe somebody sabotaged your brakes?

I push on my brakes and the pedal vibrates back to me.. i think it mite be the abs sensor.(ABS LIGHT IS ON) easy to replace?

If it does this in the slippery weather , then that is a normal brake feed back. The light should not stay on. If it does it may be the sensor. Take it in to your mechanic.

Fix abs light to go off and 4wh drive light flashing

The ABS is connected to the traction control system. When the ABS fails that light flashes and so does the 4 wheel drive. The problem could be a lot of things: Wrong or worn tires, under inflated tires, bad sensor at the wheel, brake system problem.

Brake pedal loosing pressure

Honda had two brake reservoirs one on the normal brake master cylinder the other on the ABS module. If abs fuse has no power the module has no power. that power comes from the main fuses in underhood fuse box. the abs system is supplement system to normal braking system loss of brake pedal is a air problem or drum brake adjustment problem or a loose wheel bearing pushing the caliper piston back into caliper requiring more fluid to get brake to work causing a low pedal.

Sounds like the guy that didn't tighten your wheels damaged one or more abs sensors. Call the place that put your tires on and speak with the manager. Have your receipt and work order ready so you can give him dates and time and name of mechanic. Complain loudly. The mechanics shoddy work could have cost you your life. Demand action and make them repair the damage. The abs sensors are probably going to have to be replace and they should foot the bill.

ABS light goes on and off

Sounds like you have loose brake pad linings.
The traction control measures rotational speed between each rear wheel. If your pad lining momentarily causes one wheel to hesitate your trac control will flash. As the ABS detects braking without the brake pedal being pushed, it will flash.
Check your emergency brake pads. They can fall apart inside the drum/rotor combo on the rear. That is where your sensor is for the ABS.

Ford windstar. only when i start to drive the car and i press the brakes i hear brake nois and it feel like i,m loosing control then the abs light start blinking after i drive it get better but the abs...

Sounds as if you have a false activation of the ABS system.
If the light does not come on until you are driving then the ABS module is probably seeing a difference in wheel speed from side to side. It could be caused by different size tires, are all your tires the same size and brand? It could be caused by one tire having low tire pressure. It could also be one of the sensor rings esp. on the front has maybe cracked and slipped out of place causing the air gap between the sensor and the ring to be larger than it is suppose to be.The gap between sensor and ring is usually 0.045 of an inch sometimes the ring which is pressed onto the outer CV joint will crack and the ring will slid up the joint slightly away from the sensor. This will decrease the amplitude of the sensor signal and ABS interputs this as a wheel trying to slip or lock up and activates the ABS.When ABS activates it will make a loud pulsing type sound and it will almost feel like it is not going to stop.

ABS Light and Check Engine Light on, Cruise light flashing

I had this occur on my 2007 Subaru Tribeca. ABS, Traction Control, Check Engine lights were solid, Cruise Control light was blinking and "Er SS" (commonly misread as Er 55) displayed on Trip Odometer. All lights were cleared after 10 or so miles. It appears this is a Speed Sensor (SS) reading error whereby the computer notices an irregularity with the readings taken from the four wheels. Most often it is a temporary and harmless glitch and sometimes a result of debris that is impeding the sensor's reading at one of the wheels.
