Have you checked the speaker? Have you checked the voltage to audio output IC? Have you checked whether the audio is 'muted' or not? Check these. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

I have a 27" Toshiba television, I'm having problem with the sound. I've changed the sound output but nothing happen. Please help.

Hi
Jennifer Castillo

Here are some possible locations where to look to :
( Since I have no model for your TV or additional details which you have
replaced)

a) switching IC ( these IC switches the TV to Audio Video In)

b) muting circuits ( there could be one )

c) Check the audio out coming from the Jungle IC (also unknown)

d) check the supply lines of the audio IC (could be +12V, typical)

e) Check the headphones out (if available)

If there is an audio Out, connect an external amp to test.

If audio is present , check again for solder joints to main amp.

Use these as a guide in troubleshooting :

Computer Speakers

Your input is the Jungle IC, search on line for datasheet about it.

same with your Switching IC and Audio IC.

On some audio IC, volume control is included on it.

Let us know what you find or needs further assistance.

I have konka crt tv ,model number is ks21tk501s,its problem is no sound .i was trying to troubleshoot the audio parts and also changed the memory ic but steel there is no sound

how about the amplifier ic does it work, check the supply voltage. then if you know the pin configuration of the ic, look for the input of the ic then bypass the amplifying section. the audio input connect to the connection going to the speaker out. if you can hear a sound from the speaker that was mean the ic is defective.

No video output on my supra lcd 42, audio is ok

Hi
Its input-output selector switching IC is faulty. this IC, an electronic switching device, that switches the internal and external audio vidw in-out and is controlled be main system control IC. When we select the function to internal or external, the signals goes through this IC according to the control pulsed generated by the main system control IC, with our command. In your set, the video section of this switching IC is OK, but audio switching section has damaged. It wont switches the video to out, but alright in case of internal video switching. So you can see picture either with AV of by air transmissions, but there will be no audio with AV.
Replace the IC is the only remedy to rectify this problem. It is really a skilled work, and you must have through knoledge in digital electroncis to do this work. It is besf for you to get it repaired by any experienced service technician. The IC won't cost more; and can be bought from most of the electonic sparepart shops at your town. OK.

I have an rca ctc186/7 series tv and it has no sound. We tried cleaning it, hooking other speakers to it and hooking up a dvd player and still no sound.

Hello

The audio output Ic inside your tv has damaged, or it doesn't get proper voltage. You just open your TV, and locate the audio output Ic. It can be located by following the speaker wires. Usually it will be screwed onto a heatsink. Check the input voltage with the help of a multi meter, af it is there, the Ic is damaged. Replacing it will solve the problem. If there is no voltage, follow the supply track and find out the opened circuit point. Usually a small value resistor, say 0.01Ohms in value, will be connected in series with the power supply to Ic. If it gets opened, there will be no supply to Ic, resulting no sound. If the audio outpu Ic get short this resistor will open. So keep in mind that, if this resistor is opened, there may be a short inside the output Ic, or come capacitors fitted with this supply line, after the reistor. Check the also for any short. keep a keen look at the solderings fo the leges of this output Ic. Some loose, or bad solderings also may be there. Anyway, your TVs audio output section is faulty. Find the reason and rectify it. If audio Ic is found defective, desolder it out from the board, and replace it with a same type and number. Ok

Everytime I turn on the television everything works fine except no sound. Sometimes unplugging the set and plugging it back in a few moments later fixes it. Sometimes redoing the 10 minutes long auto...

it signifies that there is a problem in the audio circuit on the PCB BOARD TV, you should check starting from the section "Audio Amplifier" check incoming voice signals on the L or R-in Audio-in Audio that led to the AUDIO IC amplifier. If you hear a sound when touched (touch point of tin solder to use a screwdriver) audio input pin means in part that there is no problem, you proceed to check into the IC close to the tuner (it is usually called Chroma IC / VIDEO + combination of Horizontal Drive + Vertical Drvie + IF). Just look at the physical form of IC is greater than the other ICs. tin solder first check whether there are loose or melting resulting in less good solder connections on each foot of the IC. It enables voice sometimes appear and sometimes not. if, after checked and looked normal / still good, you must replace the IC. I did not explain exactly NO. CODE from the IC because you do not describe the specific model and brand of your Flat TV.

Great picture, no audio. no audio on audio out using computer speakers either. no audio period, dvd, games, etc. my brother tried to plug in some reguler speakers to the audio out, they were 8 ohm.

Hi,

The problem you are experiencing with your TV is as a result of a bad sound output IC(integrated circuit),the sound IC generates and transmits all forms of sound produced by the TV,since its bad no form of sound can be produced from the TV.

The solution is to replace the sound IC of your TV,it is normally located beside the screen IC,depending on your brand of television,it can be purchased from any electronic part shop close to you .

Thanks and take care..

Toshiba tv, model cf32c50 has a garbled sound issue.

distorted sound sometimes accompanied by buzzing is caused by detuned circuit in the SIF amplifier and sound detector circuit. a distorted sound alone is caused by a breakdown in AF amplifier circuit so try to change the sound ic since its the only options left. good luck!

My supra lcd tv lost video but audio is okay

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.
