Hi,
what OS have you installed ? if vista or +, it is not compatible !
just compatible until XP !
now if you have XP, did you connect the audio out of the card to the audio in of your sound card or directly to amplified speakers ?
because the sound must be routed from the out of your tuner !
cheers
mich

2005 Equinox Radio - Occasionally the radio will stop working and you will hear cracling and popping sounds that appear to be coming from the rear speakers. The next day you go out and start it and it

there may be a wire or two not completely seated in the plugs OR there might be wire that is bare and touching another wire.
Pull the plugs sapart and verify each wire on each side of the plugs ther are no loose or bare wires in the plug block.

Radio has no sound

First check whether the connector for the speaker wires is firmly plugged in behind the radio. Try unplugging and replugging to make sure. (Note: the connector may be attached to the radio or it may be on the end of a short length of wire.)

If the speakers are firmly plugged in and you still don't get sound, the next step is to test the speakers. Do this by unplugging the wires behind the radio, then run a meter across one pair (for one speaker) to make sure you don't have an open circuit (broken connection). Alternatively, feed audio from the speaker outputs on a boombox or other stereo to that pair of wires. If you don't get sound or if the meter says there's an open circuit or direct short, either the speakers are bad or there's a broken wire between the radio and the speakers. Most bad connections happen at one end of a wire or the other, so look at the connectors at the radio and at the speakers.

Finally, if the speakers do check out, you'll have to test the car radio itself. Run a pair of wires for one speaker from the radio's outputs to an external speaker (any working speaker will do). If there's no sound, your radio is broken.

Of course, the easy way to do this is take it to a place that installs car radios. They can check it out quite easily and make recommendations. Don't take it to a Chevy dealer. They'll charge you a fortune, and if the radio is bad, they'll sell a refurbished unit for more than you'd pay for a high-end Kenwood or Pioneer.

Why don't I have sound on uniden pc78ltw?

the knob that turns the radio on and off is the volume potentiaometer.turn it 1/2 wayopen.the next knob is the squelch maqke sure it is all the to the left.the next knob is the mic gain and the RF gain.Set the mic gain at 1/2 and the RF gain all the to the right.the next knob is the delta tune, set it 1/2 way the next knob is the calibration knob leave it alone. Now above those knobs are little switches .the third switch from the left is for CB/PA make sure its on CB. check the WX switch and make sure it not on a weather station. and finally the last switch to the right is called a dynamic squelch switch.Make sure it is down. with all said your radio should be on and you should be able to hear sound. If not ,take an external speaker and hook it to the external speaker plug in the back of the radio. If you hear something then you internal speaker is junk.replace it .

Uniden uh038sx 2

Your radio is either stuck in VOX mode, or has a bad PTT button. Sometimes when using an audio device a radio will stick in Tx if the device is plugged in while the radio is turned on. When using any remote mic, earpiece, headset, or audio device be certain the radio is turned off when plugging or unplugging the device.

If no audio device is being used, the next possibility is a sticky or bad PTT button. This can sometimes be just the external button sticking, or it can be the internal button has simply worn out from repeated use.

One final thought, if your radio has programmable VOX, check to see if your programming is correct. VOX features when turned on make the radio Tx when it hears any sound, a voice or ambient noise can cause the radio to transmit.

Best regards.

I have a 2002 GMC with factory delco radio/CD clock works shows display but no sound can unplug from back and plug back with key on and will play turn key off and back on no sound. What do i look for next.

Sounds like a fault within the radio itself. This is not an uncommon problem, I would suggest either getting another factory radio, or installing an aftermarket.

I have a dc011 radio and it has no sound. i have checked the 2 fuses and they are good. the power comes on but no sound. Oh and i also have put in the 2 aa bat. what is my next step????? any info will be...

I had this problem recently. If you take off the front of the radio (don't forget 2 screws in back!) you will notice a set of black and red wires running from the 2 AA backup batteries to the digital display circuit board. The wires plug into the board with a little white plug. If you unplug this the display will fade to nothing. If you plug it back in it will display an unset digital clock format. This seems to reset the radio or something. And then it works.

No sound is coming out of the speakers when I turn the radio on. Is there a fuse that might need to be replaced? The radio display is working so I think it might be the speakers.

The radio has a amp. fuse built into the back of the radio. Cant tell you how to remove the radio without
more info about the car and the radio. The fuse is blade type located next to the control plug.
This could be your problem as blown speekers still make some noise normal sound is crackling if blown
hope this helps

No sound out of speakers, but radio powers on.

Hi, im a retired ford auto elec inst. Tech so ill see if i can help you out. First, the orginal plugs, there are several radios and systems used. Was your oem radio am, am fm, or am fm tape? Next, if you had 2 plug that look similar but has 6 wires and the other has 8. Or does it have 4 wires. I should ask was your oem radio digital or analog? If was old school shaft type you will have a yellow, thats 12v + switched. Blue/red stripe is dial light, and a thick red wire which is ground. If its digital, look for the keyway on the plug. That is the top. First wire will be constant hot. Usually it a light green. Then the yellow, blu/ red, then another dail lightl ground then the power ant/ amp turn on wire. If you have a long plug and a small square one then you have fords premium sound. Which means there is a seperate amp. Lastly, if you have an 8 wire plug thats the speaker plug. If its 5 wire its a common ground system amd you will have to run new speaker wires or your new radio will have issues. Hope that helps
