ask the question again stating the kva/kw of the generator with what you will be running in the trailer ( all items at once) and ask is the generator big enough for the trailer.
there are some magnets behind the flywheel to cause the battery charging system to recharge the batt. sometimes they come unbonded/loose from the flywheel and cause the engine to become hard to turn. I would start there first.
Check the inlet fuel pressure, on exervise there is no load, when power is out it is loaded and demands more fuel. Also check for bugs blocking gas regulators vents etc
