If you are trying to get into an online mail account, you can try to contact support. Depends on where you have your mail: google / outlook/ aol / yahoo all have support. Depending on which kind of mail there might be ways to rescue it.
At some time in the past someone changed the password. You will need to change the modem back to its factory settings. This is different of each brand of modem. Check in your modem's manual for the correct procedure or google the modem's model number to locate the manufacturer's online manual (most have them these days).
Contact your bank. If you actually post enough information for somebody to help, you have probably posted enough information to allow a total stranger access to your account.
Was your account disabled by Facebook? I've experienced this too [changing my password] when I was trying to revive one of my disabled accounts, thinking that by resetting the password I could get back, but to no avail. It was a fake account and they won't accept the ID's I've submitted.
These days the strength of a password is important. At times the same username and password is not accepted. Likewise, certain keys (characters) in the keyboard is not accepted. This could be the problem in your case. Try a combination lowercase, uppercase and numbers. Also note that these days it is important to have a minimum number or characters (say 6 or 8) is mandatory. So if you are trying with 4 or 5 characters, that password will not be accepted. Please note that passwords are case sensitive, and write down the password immediately in the exact order you typed it in.
