Robb, from what I have seen on YouTube, the alignment screws are covered by plastic caps. The spring screws might be for heat expansion??? I'll let you know when I can get to it. Thanks for the post.

Robb, I got the job done very easily. I took all three plastic caps off and loosened all three screws about two and a half turns. This allowed me to grip onto the heat sink and move it. Once I got the pic aligned, I tightened the three screws down and replaced the plastic caps. That was it. I did have to move the heat sink fan out of the way to get to the one plastic cap. Thanks for your help, Bob

Bob... This happened to me once and I was never able to get the picture realigned. As you probably know, the 4 screws on the chip holder that go through the springs are allignment screws. My problem was, I would turn the screws all the way to the limit and it still wasn't enough to bring the pic centered. Hopefully this isn't the case for you. Start by turning one of the screws several turns and see if that improved the centering or made it worse. You should be able to bring the pic back on center by adjusting those screws. If not, then you've got the board out of allignment. (Good luck on finding a fix when the boards out... I finally gave up on it)

I have a Samsung HL61A650C1FXZA TV when you turn it on the screen has white specks all over.

Its a DLP SET- you have a bad optical light engine and more white spots may appear over time.

White dots on screen

Your problem is the DLP chip. I recently replaced mine and it able to be done by a semi pro mechanic. All you need is a phillips screwdriver and a pair of needle nose pliers. You will have to align the chip once replaced though it will cut off top/bottom left/right side. Be cautious this must be done with the unit on.

The DLP chip needs to be replaced.Samsung will cover the cost of the part and labor if you call 1-800-samsung. This is a very common problem that samsung will fix for you, if you call them.

Hi,If you are experimenting vertical lines ,black bars ,color

distortion, pixilation,or white dots on the screen you might be having an

issue with the Dmd chip. This is how the DMD chip works:

http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm Basically the dmd chip

is composed of around 2 million pixels that create the image on the

screen. You will need to replace in order to fix your problem.Have a

This could be an issue with the DLP Chip.
Would have to go in for servicing.

I have a 56" DLP Samsung (HLR5668W) Right side goes solid black

The color wheels will never fix an issue like that. The only things that will cause that issue is a bad DMD board which is part of the light engine or the digital board which is not. Freak Squad need to replace the digital board.

Samsung DLP Projection Tv white dots may caused by DLP Chip. Change a new DMD Chip 19106143W. The post show you how to replace it step by step.

Your chip should look like this:

Shadow top to bottom of screen on left side about 2" wide...

This can be the sync wheel assy, failure in the drive circuit for the display chip, or an illumination fault. You will have to give the set out for service.
