Re: Toshiba 32A33-Dvd Single Disk Player Recommendation?
I did what you are going to do,i bought a panasonic dvd to do the job and i found it to be just the one.
toshiba are a good make,so both will do but not sure about the pioneer.
i would go for the panasonic dvd as it worked very well for me.
the best thing to do is get it from argos because you have i think 14 days to return it,so you can check if its ok,if not you can take it back for a refund, and say that you bought it for a friend but they have already got one with out you knowing..hope this helps.all the best..Lee Bruce..

Make and model of TV would help.
Very odd TV with no SCART and only a single HDMI. You sure it's not a computer monitor?
If the TV really does not have any sort of analogue input you will either need to buy a disk player with HDMI or an analogue to digital converter (the former may well be cheaper!), And if there is only a single HDMI you can but switches to expand the number of HDMI inputs if necessary.
User manual here http://documents.knowhow.com/TV-Home...nal_120524.pdf
Refer to page 15 which states:
"Use a included SCART adapter cable to connect
between the TV's SCART input socket and a SCART
cable to an external AV device's SCART output socket."
Flat screens normally have 3 different inputs from tv. Regular is tv coax cable, then audio/picture by using special rca cables, then last HDMI. You can use any of those inputs except hdmi because you already are using that input. You may be able to buy a hdmi splitting device that will allow both the tv and the player to input to the single hdmi input. Check Radio Shack or Wal-Mart.
No,tv internal DVD player are not on sale by itself as a seperate unit, only can buy it from the tv corporations themselves and it not cheap and have to have experience to putting it in into the tv internal tv itself. The tv internal DVD player now, could be the laser eye data reader have problems reading mp3 and mp4 files on the DVD disc, which are video files. Now tries to play more than one DVD movies dic, tries like to play like 5 to 6 original DVD movies. One disc don't play tries another DVD disc.Tries this might forcing the laser eye reader to read DVD dics again and than might fix it to read video files again.Or just buy an external DVD player hook it up to the tv and play DVD disc on to the tv video modes.DVD players external devices are really cheap these day, like can buy new one for $40.
As far as i know thats impossible. Your optical diskdrive is made just for those speeds that you have on it. You cant change the manufacture settings and speed it upp, or make it to an dual layer disk.
Buy a new one whit the needs that u want and replace the old one. Its easy done and its not that expensive.
Please check these things: 1. Are you placing the disk with correct side on the tray. 2. Is your DVd player has a region lock for the DVDs you are playing. If above question are not true then you must go to the reapir man.

This happend to me before on a toshiba 2 disk dvd changer it i searched on the net for lasers but it was about 30 to 40 dollars i got lucky and found a single disk toshiba in a trash and dicided to have a look i opened both and they looked the same so i swapped it out and it worked my suggestion is if its an old player and u have a little money scrap it u can buy a cheap walmart brand for about 30-40 dollars and if ur a home theater freak and have hdmi ports on your tv and if your tv is 1080p the get an upconvert dvd player which tranforms your standard dvd to 1080p which is a way better than regular dvd but not as good as blue ray
