Plasma is old technology and it is 16 years old and made in Mexico, the worst place for quality control. It is time for a new one, or at least an upgrade. Or you can get a board kit and take a chance on fixing it.

Sounds like fluorescent tube has gone, but you say this is LED? Newer tvs are LED. What you have, may be LCD, in which fluorescent tubes were used. You have no recourse.

Go to tv service. they change the backlight your tv.

Could be either the bulb has burnt out or the bulb ballast needs replacing. I have the 5687 set and it is dynamite.

Check out ebay for better prices on replacements.

What did you do when you say you cleaned the screen? If you shine a flashlight on the screen can you see some very dim picture? If the back light is out. This will require replacing the power board.

I have a UA40EH5000M samsung led tv. Suddenly the screen went blank. only sound is there, no display. Which part may have the problem..please suggest..

You have a power supply problem and unfortunately this repair sould be done by one who knows electronics specially tv electronics..

It is the capacitors in power supply, samsung have fitted underrated capacitors in some of their models.

possible defective lamp or ballast - if you hear a buzzing sound the color wheel could also cause the tv to go into shutdown
