I've a problem with my pc ProBook 4331s, when i switch on it does not display anything in a screen, please help me

If your laptop appears to boot up and the hard disk LED flashes, then the problem is probably a back light fault. This can be a faulty inverter or a faulty CCFL lamp. Please click on this link and follow my instructions to identify the fault and possible fix :- http://www.fixya.com/support/r3598095-faulty_laptop_lcd_screen

My laptop is booting up but is not displaying anything on the monitor. What could be the problem?

the first thing you should try is to connect it to an external monitor if you can, (you will probably have to press one of the F keys to change to external) if that works then you have a problem with the laptop screen. If it doesn't work then you will have to look at different options.

When I turn on my HP Pavilion 1x1000 It stays on ,but there is no image on the screen, and stays on please help.

A) Post THE Product Number on the bottom of the laptop. It's in the white Service Tag. P/N = Product Number.

B) On the left/bottom side of the LCD screen frame (Display Bezel), there is a switch. Looks like a small button.

This is the Internal Display Switch. (May not be in this exact position for your model. Look around on the Display Bezel, that surrounds the LCD screen)

When the laptop is closed, the switch turns off the display, (Image on screen), with the computer still on.
Tap it a couple of times lightly, with the eraser on the end of a number 2 pencil.

See if anything happens. That switch may be bad.

C) Laptop off, monitor off, connect a VGA monitor to the VGA port on the laptop.

Example of a VGA cable, and VGA connector, (Port),

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector

You can use a CRT monitor, (Looks like a small TV), or a flat LCD screen monitor if it has a VGA cable.

C) Turn the monitor on. If a CRT type of monitor allow it to warm up.
Turn the laptop on.

By factory default settings, the display should show on the external VGA monitor.

IF not;
There are at least 3 display options,

1) Internal monitor of laptop ONLY
2) Internal monitor AND external VGA monitor
3) External VGA monitor ONLY

Press, and hold down on the Fn key. At the same time tap once on the Display Toggle-Over key.

Don't know what exact HP laptop you have. For most HP's it is the F2 key, or the F4 key, that is the Display Toggle-Over key.
(Key has an empty rectangle on it, with a vertical line on each side)

Still no display on the external VGA monitor?
Hold the Fn key down again. (Bottom left of Keyboard)
Tap once more on the Display Toggle-Over key

NO display on the external VGA monitor, means you have a bad graphics chipset.

(By using an external VGA monitor, you are bypassing the Internal Display Switch, and the Display Assembly. (Internal monitor of laptop)

If you have a display on the external VGA monitor, you have a problem with;

1) Video Cable, (Display Panel Cable for HP)
or
2) Display Assembly

Post back with your results, and if you have a display on the external VGA monitor, we will go on.

If you do not have a display on the external VGA monitor, you are looking at motherboard replacement.

Post back in a Comment.

Hp 6735s was used last night and shut down properly but this morning turning it on the system continue booting without displaying anything on the screen which makes it blank / black........ Please I need...

If there is a display switch in the functions on the keyboard (most likely will look like a laptop monitor or a computer monitor on the keyboard). Press the function key and the button associated with that and wait 3 to 4 seconds (you may have to press it multiple times) If you have anything in the vga slot, then it may think a monitor is plugged in and won't display the laptop screen.
If none of the above work, then maybe your computer is having a systematic failure, or the screen connector is loose.

Hear power on, black screen. wont do anything.

- try to connect you machine to an external monitor
- if the display appears on your external monitor the problem would be the LCD screen of your laptop (need to replace it)
- if there is no display on both laptop and external monitor i suspected it's the motherboard faulty
- send your laptop to service center to replace it (if it is underr warranty it's free

HP pavilion 1000 screen is black. I can not make out anything on the screen as the ccfl bulb is not lighting, I have changed the bulb, and tried two new inverters and nothing its really annoying me now any...

If you are not getting anything on the display, it might be the display itself. Try to hook the computer up to an external monitor. If you get a display on the monitor (be sure to push the Fn key and the appropriate F key to switch displays), then it's your LCD screen. If there is nothing on the external display, your video card is bad. The video on this screen might be integrated into the motherboard.

My laptop displays nothing when switched on.

hi are you sure it displays nothing or is the display dark ? try shining a light at the screen see if you can see anything. if you can see something on the screen then it is quite probably yout lcd inverter, this is a part that is responsible for lighting up the screen.
if nothing on the screen try pluging a monitor into the the laptop if it displays to an external monitor try switching between monitor and lcd this is usally Fn + F4 or F5 you should see a screen icon on the correct key. if you still get no display then my best guess would be the screen is at fault.
