How to fix detection sensor malfaltion - Office Equipment & Supplies

An error in the rotation of the fixing film is detected.
The reading of the main thermistor is 100C or higher and, in addition, the
fixing film sensor does not detect the rotation of the film for 6 sec or more
while the fixing motor is driven.

Main cause-
The fixing film sensor (PS45) is faulty. The DC controller PCB is faulty.

Caution-
To clear the error, execute the following in service mode:
COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR>ERR.

1. Wiring
Are the wring and the connectors connected securely?
DC controller PCB (J311) <-> relay connector <-> fixing film sensor
NO:Connect the wiring and the connectors.

2. Fixing film sensor
Check the fixing film rotation signal.When the fixing motor is rotating, is
the film rotation detection signal sent by the fixing film sensor to the
concoctor J311 of the DC controller PCB?
Film rotation detection signal:5V pulse signal between J311-A9
(FILM_ROT_D) and J311-A8 (GND); at intervals of 100 msec ON and 440 msec OFF
NO:If the fixing film is normal, replace the sensor.

3. Fixing film unit, DC controller PCB
Is there a fault in the fixing film edge rotation detection mechanism?
YES:Replace the fixing film unit.
NO:Replace the DC controller PCB.

Execute the following in service mode, and
turn off and then on the power switch to clear the memory: #7
PRINTER>#4 PRINTER RESET>YES=(*)

Try this - Enter the service mode by pressing "additional function" key, "2" and "8" keys in that order. SSSW will display. Press "OK" key.
Change Bit switch 1, bit 0 (might display as the first one on the left using number keys) status, (change 1 to 0 or 0 to 1).
Press "OK" than Press "Stop" or "Additional Function key" to end service mode or restart the machine.

Main Cause: The fixing web has been taken up. The fixing web length sensor (PS45) is
faulty. The DC controller PCB is faulty.
Fixing web
1) Is the fixing web taken up?
YES: Replace the web with a new one.
Service mode
2) After replacing the fixing web, has the fixing web counter been reset
in service mode (COPIER>COUNTER>MISC>FIX-WEB) ?
NO: Reset the counter.
Fixing web length detecting lever.
3) Is the position of the web length detecting lever correct?
YES: Correct the position of the lever.

4) Is the fixing web length sensor normal? (See the instructions on
how to check the photointerrupters.)
NO: Replace the sensor.
YES: Replace the DC controller PCB.
