We have a Centrex Washing Machine, Model No. CTW 60518 Top Loader, which has recently broken-down. It leaks and not emptying completely on the spin cycle. We are unable to have repaired due to parts unavailable. If anyone would like this machine for parts kindly phone (07) 4936 4185 (Queensland -The machine has not been flood affected).

My 15 year old Whirlpool washing machine did'nt agitate or drain, could it be the motor? If so, how do you access the motor?

Look for a broken lid switchthemobilian_1922.jpgAll the models over the years have changed the way you get into the machines but the basic concept is the same. The cabinet is removed to access and service this washerthemobilian_1923.jpgthemobilian_1924.jpgthemobilian_1926.jpgthemobilian_1925.jpg

Drain and spin is in the same direction on these washers.
It won't spin with lid open. Newer models won't spin or wash either with the lid open.
Basically the lid switch has a green ground wire and 2 hot wires. themobilian_49.gif
Jump them 2 hot wires as shown here at the quick connect to look for leaks and noises AND to see if the lid switch has failed.

I have a centrex ctw60518 6kg and i need to replace the tub to pump hose but can not find one anywhere i hope someone can help, i live in qld .

Sorry, but as far as I know, there are no parts available for Centrex appliances. Centrex are cheap Target brand machines, and if they fail under warranty, they replace the machine. Out of warranty, you're out of luck. I'm a tech in NSW, and have not been able to source any parts here at all. One thing you could consider is calling the Fair Trading Office, as it is reasonable to assume you will be able to get parts for a washing machine less than 10 years old- they may be able to advise you further. Also, try going to the retailer you purchased machine from, and ask if they have a supplier of spare parts. Good luck!! PS. you could also try taking hose into your local appliance repair shop, and see if they have a hose off something else that might fit- a lot of hoses are similar.

Clothes look drab after washing them.

Is the machine new or old? How long has this been a problem? Has this been occuring slowly or has it started suddenly? Before you give blame to the machine, I suggest you wash your clothes at a laundromat or a friend/relative washing machine to see the results you get. Also, the detergent could be partially at fault especially if you use too little or too much (too much will cause a film to build-up on the clothes that cannot be washed away enough durung rinse). IF AFTER TRYING THESE SUGGESTIONS YOU STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM, open the lid while your Maytag is washing to see if the water level is sufficient and to see if the aggitator is moving; note- you may have to open quickly and check very fast to see if there is aggitation movement because some models stop the washing if you open lid (all models stop the rinse/spin action if you open lid.Goodluck, Macgivor

Centrex top loader washing machine Model # CTW60519 6kg Auto Washer. When washing the center screw holding the base plate unscrews. The base plate lifts and the clothes are not washing clean. We have...

The part that the screw holds is turning independently of the screw. Remove it and inspect for torn splines or other motion locking device. Repair or replace the part using Loctite on the screw threads.
