Well I got locked out more than once for an hour, so I have only replaced filters. Turned the gas, thermostat, and both electric switches off. Checked the 3amp fuse, that is where the circuit board was hot.?????

You should be seeing 120 volts to the igniter. Anything less requires either a replacement of the transformer, start relay or control module.

I had the same problem. I had to remove a return air duct filter that i had installed and it worked just fine. The system needs plenty of air flow to operate.

double check your wiring. R terminal on the furnace will provide 24 volts to the t-stat. W terminal in the t-stat will send 24 volts back to the furnace W terminal to turn on the heat. G terminal in the t-stat will send power to the G terminal in the furnace when the t-stat is switched to fan on. Y terminal in the t-stat will send power to the Y terminal in the furnace which in turn will send 24 volts to the A/C outside. The C terminal in the furnace should be connected to the c terminal in the A/C outside as well as to the T-stat. Check the fuse again

short in a/c wires on contactor is bad, disconnect wires at a/c and power up if no pop fuse it is the contactor. if still pops replace wire.

Look around for some popped rollout switches on the furnace.
Try to figure out why the safety would pop out. The safetys are set to pop in case of air restriction or flame rollout from rusted burners.

sorry it is called a control board, not circut board. It had a 3 amp fuse in the board when I pulled the fuse out to make sure it was not the problem, the board in which it plugs into was very hot to the touch. I don't know if anybody has had this problem. The error code says its a ignition failure, could the control board be faulty, causing the failure. If so can I just replace the board, or do I need a new furnace. On limited income or I would call a repairman, and its getting very cold here. any advice would be very helpful thank you
