Why does my dryer start but quit a second later

If it quits immediately after you let go of start button, then it isusually a bad timer or control board. The motor gets all its power during start from the start button or start relay, but once it is up to speed the motors centrifugal switch will flip, getting power from the run circuit. If there is no power supplied to run circuit (like when timer is off, or door is open) then the motor shuts off.

The operating thermostat has probably failed. When the dryer haets up, it gets too hot and the high limit thermostat turns the machine off. After it cools down, it will start, again.

Dryer starts about 45 seconds into the cycle lights come on and then it starts beeping like the end of the cycle. 10 seconds later off. Very warm on top of the machine.

See my tip for buzzing dryer. Check Owner's manual, Troubleshooting. Sounds like air is not moveing and High temp cut off saftey switch doesn't like the lack of air flow. Duct clean? Check air flow from the outdoor vent. Clean vent tube/s

Frigidaire dryer model FSEC346RHS0 When I open the door the drum stops as it is suppose to but about 30 seconds later, while the ddoor is still open, the element starts to glow red.

heating element had broken and was shorting out agaainst the frame causing it to get hot.

Gas......starts to heat then quits minutes later.

Problem is your gas solenoid coils. When they get worn they will open til they get out then shut. They will need to be replaced.

Part number 279834 replaces for most models.
