Seiki SE401GS. LED TV turns on and within 30 seconds it turns off. The logo shows up and then it tries to find the last known channel but never does and then it turns itself off. No other buttons work on either the remote or the set. Only the power buttons. Any ideas? TV Less than 2 years old.

SOURCE: TV turns on, then immediately off again

hi nel2874

so, you have a television that turns off immediately after you turn it on.
It sound like your power supply on the unit is out. Because I don't know the value of your unit I cannot comment on replacing the unit. But I would recommend that you use our website to find a Flat Panel TV Repairman near you. You may want to call to get an estimate on replacing the power supply before considering replacing the unit.

SOURCE: I have a 32" HD AKAI TV that keeps turning itself off

If the service shops didn't charge people $200 to fix this I would not post.. But since they do - here's the $8 fix.

If you are electronically inclined, replace the three 1000uf 16v electrolytic capacitors in the power supply board located above the power switch. They are likely bulging out at the top and failed. They are the three in a row at the top - center of the board, located between the two black heat sinks. Make sure you get caps rated for 105c degrees! I recommend replacing them with 1000uf 25v caps. 35v caps will work but might be a tight fit as they are larger diameter.

Should cost you about $8 for the parts shipped. You can get them from partsexpress or digikey or any good local electronics store. Your local radio shack may have them but they won'y be 105c and thus may not last long.

Not handy, ask around, there is usually some electronic tweaker guy around that will install them for a few bucks.

This has solved the turns on / then off problem every time in the 3 I've done.

Seiki SE42FYT turns off after logo appears across screen

Hi,

Please disconnect all accessories. Then turn on your tv again. Please make sure that neither the power button on the tv or that on your remote is stuck because this could lead to the issues that you've mentioned. Otherwise, you'd need to factory reset your tv.

Thank you.

Tv has started blueing out lower channels of cable 6,7,8. Called cable co they came and rewired still doing channels try to come in sometimes do and them turn blue sound is there. Is TV dieing?

Hello. It sounds like the signal strength is low. This could be caused by using an older coaxial cable between the wall and the TV or a loose connection. If all of that is okay, since the TV is refurbished, the Main PCB could be going bad.
