Question about Sony DAV-FC7 System
My FAC-FC7 DVD player is locked and will not change or eject discs. When I attempt to turn it off, the Standby indicator flashes without turning off so I must unplug the power cord.
I had the same problem and searched FIX and found a solution for a Phillips DVD player that worked on my Sony DAV-FC7 dvd player. Someone posted that they called their Phillips Tech Service and was told to (a) unplug the dvd unit from the wall and wait 20 seconds, then (b) press the standby+plug the unit back into the wall at the same time and hold for 10 seconds. I did this for my Sony DAV-FC7 which would not power on nor eject (just red light on). IT WORKED!! after doing these steps, my SONY powered on and the rented DVD ejected. The dvd palyer works again. Thanks fellow FIXYA "posters".

This Sony Dream Theater DAV FC-7 has never worked good for me. Stand by always locking it up and having to unplug it just to get it started again. Had 2 Sony Cybershot cameras go bad on me in less than 1 year. Will NEVER buy a sony product ever again.

I had this problem about 6 months after I bought the unit. Sent it back to sony 3 times (future shop) and they finally got it so when I turn the unit off and one the stand-by only flashes about 3 times (2 seconds)

I have had the same problem and seem to have fixed it by pressing Power+Eject+Stop buttons simultaneously for a few seconds then releasing. After about 20 seconds the disc mysteriously ejected and the system works again. My experience is that the system is very sensitive to 1) heat so keep it exposed and not in a enclosed space (as I had) and 2) faulty CDs - they will jam the system. Hope this works for all of you.

These FC7 will need to be serviced by an authorized Sony service depot. This problem can not be repaired by the average consumer.
