Problem for Apple iTunes

ITunes won't pick up my CD-RW!!

I want to put music on a CD-RW but i tunes (or any music program for that matter) will not pick it up. The computer says that its in the drive but i cant get music on this CD. I've searched the web for solutions to no avail. I have windows XP.
Someone please help me!!
