I bought a Sega dreamcast, and house of the dead two. I can't seem to get either guns or standard controllers to work on the game.It works fine with other games.

The guns dont work with HDTVs, also if you want to use the controllers only unplug the guns.

SOURCE: Sega Master System Cartridge Issues

I found out what was wrong. The all of the solder connections where the cartridge slot pins meet the board were broken. I was able to verify that this was the issue by pressing the connections together while trying to boot up with a cartridge and it working. I will just need to get a fine tip for my soldering iron and some really small gauge solder.

SOURCE: Dreamcast Loading problem

you can get disks relayered at game stores.
there was a long period where this happened to me.
some games worked for a while, some didnt.
its the dreamcast.
you might wanna get anew power cable or just clear out the dust because that is the main problem with the dreamcast.
try playing with the console upside down
it sounds crazy but it worked for me.

Clean the laser using a dry q-tip with a circular motion.

If that doesn't work then watch this video.

My control wont work

did you tested another dreamcast control...you had the same problem...so you have to check the protection Fusistor inside your dreamcast conector controller board....it seems like a blue or green normal resistor...marked as F1 on the board..change it with a simple fuse or an smd fusistor...Good Luck!

Cant callibrate it in the right direction

If it can't calibrate you can do nothing about it.

Sorry I tried to think about that but nothing came to my mind except for giving to a game store so they can fix it!

Your Dreamcast sounds like it's overheating.

I had the same thing, and the cooling fan was worn out and needed to be replaced. I did this, and now it works like a charm.

No picture&sound while Dreamcast is on

This may sound kind of crazy, but I was swapping my dreamcast from one shell to another (from the standard white/gray into a blue case) and I got the same behavior if the case wasn't put together properly. For me, just taking the top half of the case off by removing the four screws on the underside was enough to get it to boot properly... I'm guessing the cause of your problem is different, but I figure it couldn't hurt to pass along what I've learned...

Sega Dreamcast console problem

First off, NEVER store a game console on top of a subwoofer. It is like a giant magnet, and electronic devices do not handle magnetics. I don't think i've ever heard of a VGA box, Sega brand or not, killing a console. Millions use aftermarket AV cables and adaptors on all consoles without problem. I think it likely died from being on top of the sub. Relocate it and you should be fine. Running it for a few hours isnt likely either unless you had the vents entirely blocked.
To the guest who's drive isnt spinning, I would say your drive motor has burnt out. This doesn't indicate a defect in Dreamcasts, per se, it just means bad luck or excessive dust which killed it. Either buy a different Dreamcast or see if you can find a drive replacement.
Hope this helps.

Controller lag

are you using a wireless controller, if so thats the problem most of the time, just interference, if not try another controller, if it still occurs try returning the console, also try a different game just to be sure but that probably not the problem.sounds to me like it's most likely a bad controller.
