Hey there, As you have specified the problem, is ocuuring due to driver of your onboard or external sound card device driver is not well in functioning. Sometimes it happens, when you online updates your driver like, your firmware is designed for designated PPI Audio driver while updating online if the exact driver is not found then it searches the driver for related fetched driver for that device. It causes not to let interface your device with the designated OS. Preferred solution: search for any *.nfo file available in your OS Directory(C:\Windows). Open this .nfo file n then look for Audio device version and manufacturer's name. Search the name followed by exact version on http://google.com for OS vista and then install that driver. ##Be sure about the version of OS are you using. like 64 or 32-bit OS. Please check if the sound driver you're installing is compatible / supports the Windows Vista Ultimate OS, or it is for XP or lower version OS, if not, then you have to get the updated Driver of your sound card which is compatible to Windows Vista OS. best regards

I have checked on Gigabyte's web site. I'm afraid that Gigabyte did not release a driver for Windows Vista for your motherboard's model.
I looked thoroughly in the download page, but couldn't find any drivers for Windows Vista.

Windows Vista by itself provide drivers for most of the devices..
