If you are having monitor problems with the picture make sure the backlight to your LCD is working properly. best way to figure that out is check the screen if the picture is still there just black. Then replace the backlight sheet.

and Here
I've tried all the aforementioned fixes, and my conclusion is... when your monitor's dead it's dead. Go to NewEgg and and get a new one.

Hp pavilion f70 monitor turns white. when i turn it off and back on with the monitor power buttom the video returns but goes off again after a few munutes.

Verify that it's the monitor and not the computer by hooking another monitor to the computer and observing the results. If it's your Hp f70 that is the problem, then something in it is going out, like the inverter or perhaps a loose connection. If you don't want to open the monitor and have a look-see for yourself you can always take it to a shop to have it checked out.

You need thin flat blade screw driver to crack open the case, it is almost the same as VS19, more likely to havebad caps with bulging tops, see pictures here:

HP laptop monitor for dv7-1170us does not work

It sounds like your flat vga cable has pulled loose inside the panel. Just take the lid apart on your screen assembly and press that flat ribbon cable back in and tape it in place.

MY monitor flashes, goes black then comes back on. This happens once in a whyle.

well this might be because the power cord of the monitor is loose contact so check it. if it is ok then check the power options settings in the control panel- performances and maintenance- power options- power schemes you will find turn off monitor option select the required option from drop down list and apply the settings.

good luck

My hp pavilion f70 flat panel lcd monitor comes on and works fine with a beautiful picture...for about 1/3 of a second. then it goes blank. any ideas how i can fix this or what might be wrong?

The symptoms you describe, pretty much diagnose a failed High Voltage power supply board problem in the monitor. This is usually cost prohibitive to repair, as LCD monitor prices have dropped a bit, so your monitor is beyond economical repair.

Auto adjustment comes on every 5 seconds

Sometimes that can be caused by a loose or bad video cable causing the monitor to re-adjust for the video signal. You could try resetting the monitor by unplugging it for a few hours and re-plugging it again too. Also check with HP and see if they have any warranty, extended warranty, repair notice, free repair/ replacement.

Try to reverse the cable....use the end connected to the computer at the monitor and the monitor end to the computer. If tapping the monitor doesn't do anything and tapping the cable at the computer does the same faults then I would have it checked or just replace that cable.. Good luck.

HP 15 in. Flat panel Problem

plug in a different monitor temporarily, check your display settings (right click background, settings, advanced, monitor) and set refresh rate to 60hz. plug in this monitor again and see if that helps some monitors (lcd's especially) cannot handle beyond 60hz
