The original a/c clutch was probably burned up by the compressor locking up. Possible bad compressor.

if you want to start empty the rad you have a little plug under the rad or on the side to open and drain or take bottome hose off with the rad cap off must be cold dont do it when engine hot now follow top rad hose down to motor should come to a casing with 2 or 3 bolts holding it to engine it should be round remove the cover and thermostat is there after finding and replacing it do all in reverse now fill rad up run vehicle till fans start with rad cap off to let all air out now fill to level put cap on and that it

you drop the engine and trans out the bottom as a assembly then seperate them

It may & ruin the trans also

Would you start the engine with no oil in it,
to get every drop out of the oil pump?

& do it every 3 years on all vehicles

I don't know why people worry about a couple
quarts in the converter,after driving for 7 years
& the trans is almost ruined, from not changing
it every 3 years or 30,000 miles

You should be able to get adapters where you bought the battery. Hope this helps.

first open the bonnet then remove the round cover on the back of the lighting cluster {its like a jar top} then remove the wiring to the bulb ..then carefully undo the spring clip that hold the bulb in place {as in most cars} its a bit fiddly but its like a spring clip that is fixed at one end then goes over the terminals to a little space on the other side of the terminals {you will see what i mean when you remove the ;: jar top ;; then gently remove the bulb ..it may be a good idea to upgrade now to high out put bulbs {available from many motor factors} when refitting always wear plastic gloves {to avoid getting moister from your hands on the glass envelope of the bulb ..any moister will shorten the life of the replacement bulb if you do put moister on the envelope of the bulb clean of with a none oily spirit } now refit the new bulb {it only fits one way then the tricky bit refit the retaining wire this can be easy or a pig to do ! once you are happy that the replacement bulb is home OK then fit the cable and them refit the jar top .then teat ..good luck ..the batter side is the hardest ..it may be worth removing the air intake hose ..if you do this ..its just two press screws with plastic plugs its east to remove and re fit there is no need to remove the battery

It is possible that when you reversed the terminals you fried you alternator or melted a wire leading. check all fuses and take the car to a dealer to get the charging/cranking system checked. some parts stores will check them for you for free.
