Re: acard burner

This is a stand alone duplicator. There is no software... When I called support they told me to put the source drive in slave mode before connecting to the controller.

Acard duplicator - 'Source drive not ready'

> source drive not ready

When you push the button to open/close the drawer, does it work,
i.e., is there electrical power reaching the drive?

Did you put a disk into the "source" drive?
Is the same disk recognized when you put that disk into any other computer?
If so, then the "source" drive is damaged, and needs to be repaired/replaced.

I have put 5 different dvd burners in my toshiba. it will not recognize any

After having no success with the THIRD burner, you should have deduced that its the computer, not the DVD device, that is causing the problem.

Try entering BIOS SETUP, to see if the BIOS recognizes the DVD device.
Check that it is "enabled", not "disabled".

My burner will not power up

make sure that the dvd+rw burner is getting enough consistent power test all leads that are attached to the cd rom including electical extensions and make sure they have a secure connection or just replace them there might be bad/faulty or
your drivers may have been corrupted or you might have a virus run your antivrus program
you might have to physically unplug the leads for this cd rom then plug them back in this will activate found new hardware wizard or
you might have to uninstall then reinstall your dvd+rw or uninstall the driver then reinstall for this device
hope this helps

Dual Layer how to burn?

The software that came with the DVD-DL device should be able to burn 8GB to dual-layer media.

If not, access and download the _free_ "Ashampoo Burning 6" software.
Install it, and use it to create & burn onto dual-layer media.

I'm having the exact same problem...

The solution to this is simple. On the menu when you see that the # of MB is 0MB. Press the Arrows that change the menu option to #8 Select Source. Change this back to your original DVD-Rom or RW drive.

The computer read the driver but it doesnt open

It sounds like Vista has recognized the device as a CD-ROM drive, but NOT as a DVD-ROM drive, and the disk you have inserted is a DVD.

Try getting an updated driver and possibly a new firmware from
