Are you referring to the coil packs for the ignition? They are usually either mounted individually to each spark plug or at the opposite end of the spark plug wires as a larger single or twin block. A simple way to check is to look at where the spark plug wires are fitted to the engine. If each plug has a basic wire on the spark plug that simply pulls off the single coil pack will be at the other end of the spark plug wires.
If the spark plug has a black plastic block on it that is bolted down that is your coil pack.
Not sure but I think the Escape V6 uses separate coil packs mounted on each spark plug and bolted down.
in the exhaust manifold of the front bank or before the cat converter
bank 2 is closest to the grill and bank one is next to the fire wall
the heated oxygen sensor is before the cat converter and the normal oxygen sensor is after the cat converter
Follow the intake hose from the radiator back to the engine, the t/stat will be underneath the housing where the hose attaches. The intake is the upper hose.
Oxygen sensors monitor the combustion by products produced by your engine and send this information to your emission control system.
The location of sensors can vary from one model to the next.
Suggested is to obtain shop manual for your model to use as a reference.
The V6 engine (any V6) was invented to give the appearance of a V8 but reduce costs.
Unfortunately it's impossible to balance the firing order of three cylinder engine banks so you will have a difficult time getting any V6 to idle smooth.
There is nothing wrong with the engine you simply have to live with the lumpy idle or buy a V8 car.
It is located on the driver side, just toward the center from the gas pedal.
From the outside, you will not be able to see it. It is located in a box in the frame and does not protrude all the way out. You need to be underneath the vehicle to reach it at all. On the frame right where the brake line packs turns from horizontal to vertical is a hole roughly 1" in diameter. Facing the vehicle, the drain is in that hole, 1/4" down and 1/2" to the right. You can feel it if you stick your little finger in the hole so that your finger bends down a little.
If you have an AWD endeavor, this is even more difficult to reach, and should be left to someone with a lift to put the vehicle in the air.
There are only V6 endeavors in the US, are you certain you do not have a 3.8L V6?
Bank 1 refers to the side of the engine that contains cylinder number 1. This is the side of the engine nearest the firewall. Sensor 1 refers to the first sensor off the manifold, or closest to the engine. This also is the O2 sensor that is located before the catalytic converter in the manifold. Sensor 2 is located after the catalytic converter, further down below the car.
