I'm back again after about a month away. Back to my problem, horizontal lines and/or interference make watching my Samsung 52" flatscreen impossible. TV is 5 years old. A limited time recall has passe

All caps look good, have put another TV in place and it works fine. Removed back cover, all looks OK. Have heard that the "tcon" board could be the culprit. Still scratching my head. Have read about line faults in LCD TV's. They all refer to vertical line problems. My lines are horizontal.

The TCON board can give you both Horizontal and Vertical lines, it is real easy to fix and fairly cheap. The most I have had to pay for any TCON board has been $45 plus shipping. Mostly what goes bad on these boards are the IC, a part that costs around $5.00 but requires micro-soldiering experience and tools.

SOURCE: LCD TV SCREEN PROBLEM RED HORIZONTAL LINES OF DOTS ALL OVER SCREEN PLEASE HELP

This should be repairable. It may be the LVDS Cable or the Main board problem. The only other problem is the T-Con Board.

If the line is vertical and "One Pixel Wide" (Pinstripe) then the LCD Panel is bad and needs to be replaced. Contact 1-800-SAMSUNG to set up service.

The display is controlled by the T-CON board. You may have faulty contacts on the connector for this board or a bad board. If the connector is cleaned it may improve. Sometimes disconnecting and reconnect the cable can solve the problem. The heating/cooling cycle from turning on the set can make the contacts loose.

Hi my name is Roety,
I can help you with your issue ,
If the line is present on all inputs, and effects the TV menu you most likely need a new screen.
You can try changing buffers, reseating cables.

Samsung Plasma TV - picture has 6 sections of horizontal lines

All I can say is when you watch T.V. the plasmas run off of plasma gas and when you leave something on for so long it burns in the screen. I have the same T.V. and when watching like the weather channel it leaves lines but they go away. If yours are permanent then you can't do anything, but it may help if you go on your remote and go to "menu" then look for "setup" and scroll down with the arrows on your remote. Look for "screen burn protection" and select "white screen". This will make your whole screen white and it may take out the lines. If you let it sit white it won't hurt it. All one color won't hurt, the only thing that hurts is like bright white lines in front of a dark background. Just give your T.V. a break from time to time ESPECIALLY ON VIDEO GAMES. T.V. shows that are HD usually have their channel icons that move or are very dim and they won't hurt. Just go to what I told you and let it sit about 20 minutes, if that doesn't help, then the T.V. you have i believe comes with a 2-year standard warranty and if it's under warranty take it back if you have the reciept. If no reciept then call 1-800-SAMSUNG.
