The best thing to do is use a factory wire adapter. The main wires you need to worry about are power, battery memory, ground and speaker wires. If you have a power antenna you will need to wire in the remote (normally blue or light blue). The only other wire should be an orange wire for the dimmer on the radio face. This one is not necessary for normal operation. Make sure you have the main 11 wires wired in. Ignition, battery, ground and the 8 speaker wires.
From what you say I would check to be sure the factory stereo speaker plugs are plugged in tightly and deeply into the radio or radio harness. If you check this and still have no sound find the speaker wires at the radio and try to put an after marker speaker on the wire. There are two wires from the radio to each speaker so be sure you get the right ones. Let me know how this goes.
there pretty simple red+ goes to keyed power wire. yello is the same keyed power wire.black ground. speake wire will be like two green two violet one will have black stripe that is the negitive solid color is positive green and green violet ant violet white and white blue and blue youll just have to figure out thr front and rear. blue wire is for amp remote turn on wire your speaker wires may be different colors but same idea
use a test light with ignition off when u find power connect it to yellow(memory) then on acc when u find power conect red connect black to earth blue is optional (power antenna) find the speaker wires colors at the back of each speaker and connect the two of the same color to each speaker striped wire + no stripe - hope this helps
