Hello JVN4 hi, problems with Power Supply boards, are really common among TV today, you just simply replace the entire board and the TV set goes back to normal. (NOW if you want to find the faulty part, to save extra cash, that is not reality. ) you still need to pay a tech guy to replace the PS board. If you want to find the faulty part, you need a lot of experience to do this, IF you are a tech type of guy, and want to use a multi tester for the work, need to measure voltages,
Here is what to measure.
1. On the large filter capacitor, measure the DC voltage, for a 110v main the DC level is around 150-160 volts DC, for a 220V main the DC level is 310 to 320 volts DC.
2. On the Oscillator Transformer, measure AC volts this should be the equivalent DC volts of no.1 but in AC form, this is AC at a different frequency.
3. On the other side of the transformer are the rectifiers and filters of the different DC voltages need by the TV. (12v, 5v, 3.3v etc)
on these 3 voltage measurements you can very well find where the trouble stage is. On no 2. if there are no AC voltage present, problem with that stage. (You have oscillator problem). I can only explain up to this point.

Go into your user menu and turn off your eco settings. There is an ambient light sensor that is monitoring the light in your room and is constantly adjusting your brightness. Just go in and turn it off and all will be well.
Testimonial: "on my user guide i do not have anything that says eco settings even in the manual. it gave me the idea to shut off the power saver and it worked."

The screen is a PDP or Plasma Display Panel and if broken/damaged the part alone will cost more than the set did when new--Plasma and LCD display panels are fragile and damage is fatal.
Sorry, but time for a new TV set--that one is history.
SD TECH
if it has only one fan, replace that but look to see if fan dusty or not.
I have seen ones with two identical fans and one made noise and the other did not, swapped them and then knew for sure which was the bad one, in that case better to replace both fans at same time.
