You can't lower the feed dogs on the Singer 4830C. Instead, you need to cover the feed dogs. This cover plate is part of the standard accessories sold with the machine.

Your machine uses a Class 66 metal bobbin. I can get a bunch of them from eBay--just do a search on Singer 4830.

Clean the bottom. The place that nail going into it. You can use Vaccume too.

This machine uses a Singer Class 66 plastic bobbin.

Sometimes the little spring on the spindle sticks out a bit too far and holds the bobbin on, the only way to get the bobbin off is to force it.

When you order the manual on the Singer site, only enter the number 4830 (leave off the "C") and it should work fine.

No, but it does come with a cover for them so you may do free-motion sewing.

If you can't get the hank of using that buttonhole foot and attachment, go to your stitch length dail turn dail to red #1 this will make the right side of your buttonhole(the length) If you move the dail following number sequin 2-4 this will give you beautiful buttonhole without using that attachment. Remember that you don't move your fabric let the machine do its job, just check to make sure that it is lined up . Practice very easy. I use this machine for anything I sew. Love it.
